Re: Interior Restoration - Color Glo (Ernakulam, Kerala)

Excellent restoration work!
But my doubt is how do they restore/recreate the torn bits of leather?
For filling holes & cracks they might have used some liquid filler material as mentioned by you, but what about the torn steering wheel leather? How can that be recreated by some type of liquid?
Did they really perform some kind of darning by putting in a piece of leather/faux leather of the same color there?
Anyway, the final result is awesome!

And why was the car so badly abused and neglected before you got hold of her?
Wonder how could anyone do that to a Mercedes!

Awesome restoration job, looks like no need to change your car covers ever. Are they predominantly into interiors and do they have any other centers across India?

Great job with the interiors! The car almost looks new. I am curious though, how much did you get the E280 for? Recently someone quoted 6 Lakhs for a 1999 Kompressor, Kerala Registration! I thought he was kidding, hence, my query. Congratulations on your Merc.

Do you have any pics of the exteriors to show extent of damage?
It is a 2005 model vehicle been considered Total Loss by an insurance company, it was left ignored in the salvage buyer's yard due to some legal dispute in claim settlement, i was informed for 2 years but the condition was as if it was in that condition for atleast 4 years.. . Except the airbags and dashboard all parts were sourced from Dubai, used parts market, it was a lot cheaper..

The damage sustained was not a major one, i think it was total lossed only because the previous owner didn't wanted it to be repaired back. The only component which got repaired is the Bonnet, everything else was replaced with original parts.

All the holes & cracks on the seats and steering wheel are been repaired using a liquid filler material, even on steering wheel nothing is been replaced but only the damaged areas got repaired. Steering wheel was repaired with a different material than the one for seats, they explained me and showed it to us, of course it's like a magic.

Yes they are specialised only into interiors, as you said the way and quality at which the original leather being restored, there is no need to replace it ever. They are also doing color changing of interior trims, saw some photos of impressive coolor changing jobs in their face book page.

We also saw a Ferrari F430 being restored there for sticky plastic interiors.

When googled i saw that they have a branch in Banglore too.

Re: Interior Restoration - Color Glo (Ernakulam, Kerala)

Awesome job there. But somehow I would have preferred a black steering/airbag unit instead of the beige one as beige would become messy in quick time. I have also changed my Skoda Laura interiors from beige to black at Color Glo. Anish is a very helpful guy and really listens to what the customer wants.

Sharing their FB page.

Re: Interior Restoration - Color Glo (Ernakulam, Kerala)

I read this thread today morning in office and I was They have totally transformed the interiors from worse to best! Fantastic restoration job for the interiors. Thanks for sharing, they seem to be really pro, when it comes to interior treatment. I just loved the new interiors. And ever since I saw a black version of this very Merc in the picture Rajneeti, I have always felt ever since that this was one of the best looking Merc ever! Also the charges you mentioned are almost nothing, for such an amazing quality of work.

Can you post a picture of the car in the salvage yard? Since you have mentioned that the appearance there was frightening ...

I have not taken photos while the car was at salvage yard, but i have some photos during the course of bodyshop repairs which i might start as a new thread if appropriate. Most of these photos were taken and send to me by Mr. Anish during each stage of the restoration, since i was not fully convinced with the outcome in the begining, find below a few more photos for the interior.

Re: Interior Restoration - Color Glo (Ernakulam, Kerala)

This is superb! Thanks for sharing. I have been on a lookout for a capable outfit who can do black interiors in my Verna. Somehow Kitup! was not very inspiring plus they're too far for my comfort.

If ColorGlo does have a franchise in Bangalore, I would love to visit them. Else I will drop by their Cochin office during my next visit.

Re: Interior Restoration - Color Glo (Ernakulam, Kerala)

Stunning transformation of the Merc. It is hard to believe that it is the same car's interiors from the final pictures. Price wise I would have expected it to cost much more. The finishing looks absolutely fantastic too.

Re: Interior Restoration - Color Glo (Ernakulam, Kerala)

looks amazing. what did they exactly do to repair damaged or torn parts. From the photos, looks like driver seat head rest has some tear and it is gone after restoration. Love the attention to detail.

No contact info. Their website is not updated, can't even find the shop at Kochi. http://colorglo.in/

I think this can be fixed by upholstery specialists in Bangalore. They can put a fresh piece on it. Do it at Imperial INC, Karlsson or Stanley Leather based on your budget. The contact details can be found in Team-BHP Directory > Bangalore.
