A few words on my experience with Aquatint here: Aquatint Kharadi

Gave their Kharadi outlet a visit this sunday for their basic Insta Gloss + Interior Clean add on package. Lovely work performed once again and my car looks beautiful as ever

Got a Insta Gloss and a Opti-Coat Ceramic Coating for front windshield yesterday. Quality of work (given that my car already was riddled with bad scratches from poor cleaning job by cleaners) and professionalism was top notch.

Does Aquatint also do small painting jobs / touchup etc? Any experience with using them for these kind of services?

They do not have these services. I remember asking them for my bike which had deep scratch marks on the sides caused by luggage. However, their Aundh branch has a garage right next to them so if you are visiting that branch, it might be helpful.

Aquatint is not into painting jobs however they can connect you with The Mechanix Automotive, which is literally next door.

My personal experience at Mechanix has always been great so I would definitely recommend this garage to you. Fellow bhpian 599gto is one of the two partners. The other partner is a car enthusiast too. They have a proper paintbooth where they can execute the paintjob you desire. You can connect with them on Instagram as well.

Incidentally, one of the partners of Aquatint is a fellow bhpian too, his handle is Tejas Ingle.

A Paint Enhancement Work on my 10 year 121,000km old 330i at Aquatint has given a new life to the car.

Work was done both at Kharadi & Aundh.

So, I had this urge to do some DIYs on my car, on which i acted up on last Sunday.
I had painted my brake calliers red by my own and it went pretty well. Which basically encouraged my inner DIY'st to go on do a smoke effect on my tail lamps.
To cut the story short, it was more or less a disaster and ended up with a result which was far from what i was looking for.
Also, ended up spilling some paint on to the car's body panels due to imperfect masking!!!! Out of panic, i contacted Nikhil with the pictures, who said not to worry and to get the car to the studio.
There was also a long pending detailing for the car which i wanted to get done. So, there i went the next day.

DIY in progress. The tail lamps at this point was in different shades. Though the finish of the one on right is what i wanted, both of them were not matching in shade and i had no option but to go darker on the right one.


Notice the spillover on to the body. Reached aquatint the next day to get this rectified and to get the long pending detailing done.

All the spills were cleaned up beyond any doubt by the team. As usual, they did a great job at it.

Thank you ! It was a while back but IIRC it was around 8-9k for the package. Do reach out to the Aquatint team and they will gladly help you with the current rates.

Does anybody have any idea if aquatint does painting services also? If yes, could you please list down the charges for painting of the front and rear bumpers of our Vento?

No they do not. Mechanix, literally next door, does painting in their in-house booth.

My 3 GT's car detailing is long overdue. Normally I would go to Mazda Motors in Bombay but I think I'll give this place a try since I am in Pune for another few weeks.

Easier to manage this here logistically speaking.

Will post updates once its done.

@Sukiwa: Thank you as always for reporting a gem of a place.

And here are the promised updates. I did send the car for a thorough detailing job and the outcome was absolutely immaculate. I dare say the results are even better than what I have experienced with Mazda Motors in Mumbai. Given how close this place is (I went to the Andhra outlet)to my house in Pune near Balewadi, I might come here again the next time I feel like giving my car or bike some detailing work. I did a so called “basic” job on my bike (cost approx 1500 INR) but the results were spectacular. The work done on the car cost about 15k INR - pricey but worth it considering you would not do this level of work more than once in 18 months or so - maybe even longer.

Leaving my small notes below followed by pics.

1. My primary point of coordination was Lallett.
2. Lallett was extremely helpful, informative and willing to explain all aspects of what we should do in great detail.
3. Getting an appointment was pretty prompt.
4. There is clearly a pride of work with the emphasis on the quality of the finish. The ultimate job took a day longer than promised (2.5 days vs the initial estimate of 1.5 days) but I was in no rush and with work like this I am ok if someone takes that extra effort to do a cracking finish.
5. The boot space needs special mention as it had some black marks. For the first time those marks have been removed to a near good as new level - something I have not experienced to date even at Mazda.
6. The bike together with the top box was completed in a single day. I happened to visit mumbai in the meantime and brought down my side panniers since I am house shifting back home to Mumbai over the weekend. Have given him the side panniers too to finish so it doesn’t look out of place. The side panniers are barely used but still has some random scratches over it.
7. I have never shied from using my GT for whatever I need to do. Within a day of the job, it was loaded up as a flat bed with some initial stuff including my bike being transported back to mumbai over a quick 2 day trip. Of course, I took absolute care that there were proper sheets laid, the bike itself covered. A pic of this setup.
