Trusted Petrol Pumps- Hyderabad

Couldn't find a thread for Hyderabad, hopefully this can be a good source. Please add your experiences and suggestions.

My recommendation

1. Just opposite where Sangeet Cinema used to be on SD Road. This is the one at the crossroads. Been around for ages and always recommended for the quality of fuel.

Sri Mallikarjuna service station for HP has never failed me for last 6 years. This is at the BHEL crossing past Chandanagar. I have also used Indian Oil pump between Hydernagar and Miyapur cross road without any problem.

Mohsin Motor Needs - BPCL Outlet near Kapadia Lane , opp. NIMS

Avoid IOC pump next to Hindu office near Somajiguda circle. Quantity suspect.

Are you sure about that IOC bunk? I've been filling up there for the past 3 years and I've never got less than 11 kmpl on my Fiesta 1.6. Of course, I've not used it for the past 2 months as I was away.

MileCruncher are you referring to Blue Moon Station. The one opposite Spar. I have used it a couple of times over the past 7 years. For my car I track the mileage with every gas fill. This bunk has never shown me any surprises.

Yes thats the one.

Issues faced are:
  1. Everytime I fill there, my car returns less mileage. Compared to that even the HP pump on Raj Bhavan road delivers better mileage.
  2. He always short changes on the quantity i.e. If you say 500, he will never give the full 500 but to the nearest point when everyone else now does upto 3 points of the decimal. Even in case of card payment, he rounds off to the next rupee.

The IOC pump next to HPS is a better bet anyday.

Try IBP pump next to Pride Honda. Seems to be good.

Re: Trusted Petrol Pumps- Hyderabad

VNabhi and I both use Petrol. Maybe this issue is limited to Diesel.

I always fill my car till Autocut and pay using credit card. So never encounter rounding off issue anywhere.

My bike has no odo. So I never tell the guy how much to fill as I don't know how much she will take in. Just tell him to keep filling till we can see the fuel come upto the neck. Do note that my bike has a modified large size tank. Holds around 18 liters or so.

I usually fill up at the bunk opposite KBR park close to Road Number 45. If the bunk has a tanker dumping in fuel, I go over to Jubillee Hills Check post.

I have found both these bunks to be decent.

The concerned petrol pump only sells petrol and no diesel. I have faced issues while filling my Uno there.

Try paying there in cash. As about card, I had rebuked him once so since then the next 2/3 times I made sure he swiped it for the exact amount.

Since my Uno runs less and the pump is right next to my house, I use it to fill only enough to get out of reserve and go to my usual petrol pump.

Yes, used to try to fill up only there earlier when I used to go to that area often. Have heard the pump next to the Pride Honda showroom that Milecruncher and Lonely Planet referred to is also reliable.

I try and fill up at a Shell pump whenever I can and luckily I go by one of them regularly. More expensive but I think you can always trust the quality and stuff like rounding off issues never happen.

And a few other plus points - there's never a queue, your windscreen gets cleaned.
