Thanks Shyam. You have seen the pictures that I had posted earlier for this car which was leaf green and among rotting cars.
He might not have got the original taillights. I do not know why the owner Laljibhai went offbeat with so many other mod touches. The steering is blasphemous for an old Dukkar.

@Anjan : I have only one single piece of 56 model tail lamp (Spair one), hunt is on for another one. Since to continue i will have the 57 model tail lamp fit on the car.

Can anyone help me on this.

Saleem
@Saleem, Jawa are the closest match. I'll also be going for my 56 Millecento resto by year end. Meanwhile am busy collecting parts like you. I bought Jawa healights as they are the CLOSEST match to original.

I'll send u PM of a guy who will, most probably, have the tailights. I'll also contact him & if he has the tailight's then I'll send them to you. He may also have the 'mush' or complete front grills. Give me couple of days.

Sirji,

I have a pair of java headlight which I picked a year ago when i had a plan to procure a Java and restore it, will post the pics of those tomorrow. Please share your java headlight pics which will be easy for me to compare.

There is person here in bangalore which many of the Bangalore bhpians should know "Mubarak Meters" who is having 56 type grill but the price he is quoting for that is 5k(5000) Rs and moreover its not the original one but made from alluminium sheet metal.

Wainting for your response.

Saleem

Hello All,

Time to watch and comment as we have scrapped 90% of the body till yesterday and 2k premer has been applied to save the car for Rain Gods. I hope the remaining 10% gets over today and tinkering starts by tomorrow.

Saleem

Re: My 1956 Fiat Millecento Restoration

Looks very interesting project. All the best to you ... I am eagerly waiting for the final pics. I am sure once everything is done, it is going to look awesome

How much is the total restoration cost going? Is engine in good running condition? From where you are getting all the parts?

Aniketi engine is really good believe it or not my mechanic was able to do wheeling.Camera was not there if not you might have seen the first two wheels were in the air. Coming to the cost its difficult to say right now. Parts were collected from 2years from all accross and still the hunt is on for few.

Re: My 1956 Fiat Millecento Restoration

Hey Saleem,

keep the good work going on...

When i back to Bangalore in Feb 2012 there are three in your signature which i want to have a ride / drive.

1) Jet Java - my uncle had one, back in the late 80's which he sold off, used to be waiting to go to Mysore to have a ride on it.
2) RD 350 - my dream bike which i plan to buy once i am back to Bangalore particular the HT.
3) Millecento - as this was the car i learnt driving in and share a huge bonding with it. We did not own it but a friend in belgaum owned it, and his driver you to let us teach me to drive when i was 10yrs old.

Sir,

The garage is in Kanaka nagar.

Way to go is: Straight road next to Pushpanjalli Theater will lead to kanaka nagar or the other way is from Ringroad near Manyata Tech park.
If you reach here and call will guide you exactly near the garage its on the main road.

This weekend will be visiting please let me know if anyone joining.

Regards,
Saleem
