I spent few hours with this car and the topolinoon Saturday. I must say that the finish is top notch. Using the paint booth has given extra gloss to the paint. There are minot thing to attend too. once that is done and with the final buffing and polish, this would be an amazing color job.

As per my plan, the car should be delivered by Mid-March.

Prashanth got all the ORIGINAL Aluminium fittings for the car, and i was amazed to see so many of them in very good condition, must say, Prashanth has stored them very well over the years.

Few of them had lost sheen, so what i decided was very funny way to clean indeed, much to ire of my mom and wife at home. Plonked them in the Dishwasher

Must admit, the outcome was indeed very good.

When I think I have seen it all, and Bang here is Mr. Pavan surprising me rather sweeping me off my feet. Anna, hats off.

Ps. now don't take my word sweeping too seriously... cant thing what is in store next...

Few things that were re-done and done in the couple of days

1) Masking and Re-painting of the front and rear panels
2) 3M Anti-rust coating on the roof
3) 3M Anti-rust coating on the inner floor
4) Bitumen rust preventer / sound damper sheets layed
5) 3M anti-rust coating on the inner door panels

Jokes apart. The Bodyline looks Great and the Paint work looks Phenomenal. I have few questions:

1. Are you going to take this car also to the Paint Booth, as you did with the Topolino ?
2. In the last picture you posted, there on the roof. The Paint has chipped off or it is something else ?

Upholstery is almost done, roof-lining to go on to the car today.

Electrician to complete 75% of his work by end of the day.

Wiring has started, should get done before weekend.

Upholstery is 75% done, waiting for the roofliner to go on the car.

Engine painting being done, should be completed by tomorrow.

Rims being painted.

Other bits/fittings being painted.

Painting is just a procedure, while the tiny bits around it are the one's that will actually consume more time.

Too much of work and detailing done on the car, basically all this is amounting to delay in delivery.

Sometimes the team ends up doing more than what they are supposed to do, but thats the way it is.

The devil lies in the detailing, looks like its gonna be a serious headturner Pavan ji.
BTW are you going to polish the aluminum bits or something of that sort.
OTOH The headliner looks perfectly fitted, the material too looks period. Whats the update on the seats and door pads. Am looking forward to some pics of the seats.

I need some info on the chrome strips which you once mentioned for the windshield rubber beading. Please do PM me regarding this.

Well, Busy office schedules kept me away from restorations, Now getting back to the car, Lack of spares delayed lot of work.

Though i would have loved my mechanic to complete the work, looks like Prashanth (Voyager) will trust only his own mechanics to complete the mechanicals

Upholstery is Complete and is packed neatly to be transported to Prashanth's house.

Electrician has a days job to finish, which most probably will happen tomorrow.

Glass fittings and others are going into the car, hopefully in a day or 2, the car will be driven out of the workshop, without the upholstery and without the detailing . All of which will be done at Prashanths place

Well, Prashanth's mechanics never turned up , and finally my mechanic will be doing the mechanicals.

Also,. Prashanth is off to Combodia on a Riding trip, so a big breather for me untill he returns

The carb was too clogged, presently he's split it open to clean it.
