My 1967 VW Fastback restoration- Destiny's Child

I had seen this Fastback on T-BHP way back in October 2009, and life comes a full Circle in October 2011

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/post-w...-india-25.html

To cut a long story short, Mr Shareef ( imperial.s.a ) agreed to part with the car and its happily with me right now, RUNNING.. But not yet Restored.

It was destined to come to me after all these years,

Restoration has started, but will be a slow one, please bear with me.

Awesome pick Pavan.. Another of your VW restorations I am hooked to your thread.

I love the side profile of the fastback. The car is in pretty decent body condition .

You say the car is in RUNNING. How good is the condition of the mechanicals ?

Thanks, I checked that w123 out. The Merc in the pic is a w116,

Lets get back to topic.

As for the VW, I think it used to belong to a doctor on Old Madras Road if I am correct

Another car to follow in our quest for "Armchair Restoration".
It is a pleasure to sit back on the chair and watch the progress of another rebuild on the computer screen, all the while wishing we are there with you. Thanks for sharing.

I sometimes wonder what they really think of you back at the Bank - Another Nut off a Bolt? . What passion!

Anna..! this pic was taken some 3 years ago, sadly its deteriorated a bit before it reached my hands, but lucky me, the car was in full piece.

Yes its presently running, has a few teething issues, which i intend to attend in the coming days.

Will be using the car for a while and will restore it maybe second half of this year.

Well, i cant say much about this, should i take it as a comment or a compliment

Trust me buddy, i am already at my wits end with other restorations around me.

Well at my office levels, i've been known as this typical Auto NUT since the last 11 years, everywhere i need to achieve targets, But this one gives me NO Returns apart from satisfaction.

Honestly, how many people can follow their dreams? Most live some other persons vision of life. Steve Jobs remembered too for this piece of advice.

Thanks you buddy

The car was at my mechs place, though it is running, but the carb has packed up and we are waiting for the new packing kit to arrive, and since it becomes cumbersome for him to have a stationery car at his house blocking other cars, i decided to get the car over to the workshop.

Re: My 1967 VW Fastback restoration- Destiny's Child

Another milestone: You have just completed 5 years in TBHP today.
How many cars have you restored in this period? Can you oblige us with a list? I'll take a bet that you have not been counting either.
