Why there is so much gap between the seat plate & the chassis? I would still recommend you to search and find an OE tank, Body panels, Shock ups & mudguards. Because there are problems in the final outcome.

Re: Restoring a Rajdoot GTS (a.k.a. Bobby)

Looks really nice !

Pls change the rear shock absorbers to the original ones , the high rear looks out of sync. Also i know a supplier who has monograms (a bit expensive but OE).

Would really appreciate if you could help me source the rear shocks. I have the monograms and tank pads, those still need to go into the vehicle.

Restoring Rajdoot GTS, Standard and Ranger

Dear BHPians,

I have been involved in restoring old motorcycle to save them for demonstrating earlier innovation in the category with the good and best from then technology. Aim is to restore them to original and use them for education purpose. Few were very interesting restoration project almost saved from cutters / scrape dealers.

In the process I have been working on Rajdoot Standard, Rajdoot GTS and first Rajdoot (I guess Ranger).

I am looking for following parts in around Amravati and Mumbai in state of Maharastra, where you can help me with spare part dealers keeping such parts.

Rajdoot GTS:
a) Front wheel drum plate
b) Worm gear assemble( Speedometer gear)
c) Repair Manual or OEM manual
d) Spare side wheel bracket and Rim (Stephnee)
e) Ignition Switch and key (Will need it later)

Rest the motorcycle is in very restoring condition, probably from early 1980.

Rajdoot Standard:
a) Seat plate and foam
b) Side panel panel screw fastner
c) Tank steel panel and monogram
d) Silencer
e) Side reflector( Round )
f) Kick Lever

Rajdoot - (Ranger pre 1970)
a) Head light (Round like SHL -13)
b) Ignition Switch ( as spare will need later)

If some one can help with old working spares, that will also do in the restoring projects. I am sure there are many spare dealers who have some good stocks to sale. Keep this forum lively and help, appreciate your help in advance.

Thanks,

Hi Twinn,

paint the rims in silver shade they will look good , and for the rear shock absorbers its the same what was used in front on the normal rajdoot ( ranger & thier other various models ) should be available easily wher other rajdoot parts are easily available.

I have some parts back at home. I shall have to ask my folks to check and get me some pics if you are interested.

My best wishes for the restoration

Hi Layzone - Infact I had the silver shade, did not go good with the paint match!! The problem is still I haven't been able to source the rear shocks and the front brake plate.

There was a bhpian from Pune who had a vehicle up for grabs as a organ doner, the deal went cold after some emails to and fro, So I am still up in ears whenever I see a GTS up for sale or parts available.
