The paint in the boot isn't any different from the one all over the body.

What we see in the boot floor is probably a stonechip compound. The popular brands are 3M and Wurth - this looks more like 3M, the application is a little finer in Wurth if I remember right.

While designed to take the impact of flying stones that can hit the underbody and wheel arches (and then start the formation of rust), common applications are on the boot floor, passenger floor etc wherever there is any abrasion. It is an excellent anti-corrosive, and I guess can even be applied to the insides of the doors (where water usually collects).

And many here simply apply old engine oil/grease in its place.

Quite effective, yes.

Looks like rock star already, just some seat in and drive off. that how good it looks now. Awaiting for more details.

Any Updates on the Statusplease:

The paint will be Glasurit, I presume? :D

Any work on the engine done so far? You know what I mean. :D

Of course it will be Glasurit, a Custom Pearl Shade of Blue :)

No work on the engine, the car has just done 20,000 miles till date

There is a Jaguar in the background, I see. :D

Anything on that? please:

There is a K&N box present as well. Hmmm

What you see on the floor is a much superior product than wurth and 3M, its Industrial Grade EPI. This product gets hard as metal as it dries and has water repelling properties too. Available only through Back Door entry from builders of Fuel and Milk tankers:D

This will be available at Vehicle Coachbuilders, I see.

This EPI- How much does it cost? And how do you take it off? By sanding/Acidic means?

I happily spent over an hour in office reading about this beauty. Your dedication and the skill of your staff is amazing! Great job. :)

Seriously cant wait to see this restoration complete. More and more i come on TeamBhp. more and more i check for this update. Please update more juicy pictures..

Beautiful car and great job. It is rare to find such a low millage car, a V8, and a coupe. Great find. Like many, I too am waiting to see more updates on this car.

One thing about V & C cars, is that you never know where and what cars are parked in the garages/barns.

You will be happy to note that there is similar unmolested 1967 Chevy Coupe in Bangalore in an amazingly pristine condition. Can be an excellent reference for the car under restoration

Yes KPS, I've spoken to Papu sir regarding the same, should be visiting him sometime soon.

I was really happy seeing this car on his Facebook Post, But he confirmed that his car is not an SS though. Nevertheless the same body style and most of the interiors and exteriors are same, i need to refer this very car ASAP.:)

Pavan Anna,

its been a month and a half of waiting with eagerness.. i hope to see some surprise pics soon. Let it roll brother..

Amazing! Thank god i read this now and didnt start the thread last year as restorations require a lot of patience!

Pavan were you able to get to the chasis?

Thank you all for the patience, i did delay the project for a while, First reason, was awaiting spares, Second, did not want to rush it up.

There was this particular Original Blue that came on this car when it left factory. We formulated a Pearl Shade out of the original code and also made it a 2 tone shade. Paint from Glasurit.

Let the pics do the talking

where are the pics boss. updates? updates?

Updates are a little slow and steady after the paint work.

There are one too many fittings that need to be looked into, restored and then fitted.

Complete interior upholstery is imported, they are almost in place, the Wiring loom is being restored, engine pulled out, painted and again fitted back.

By the end of June we will have the car ready for road tests.:)

Pics by weekend, please pardon me
