Waking up a sleeping thread.

This Baby Hindusthan is under restoration in GJ and belongs to a customer of ours. I had the oppurtunity to see this when I visited him last November.

Thanks Karlos.

WBD8775 always brings a smile to my face , let me check if i have some interior pics , however as i remember it had the Central Smiths speedo in MPH (at least in wbd8775).

I remember my grandpa pushing it to 55mph on red road (circa 1985).

It is 8755 unfortunately. Either ways, 8775 was scrapped in 1993?

Hello.yes it went to Malick bazar in Calcutta . However they have been occasions when a scrapped car has turned up later in a collection , hence the question.

I did track down 5 more Baby hindustans in the same 8700 series , this is the 6th !

Re: The Baby Hindustan Thread

Waking up the sleeping thread once again, I happened to pickup a fairly rotten Baby Hindusthan as my first proper classic.

Re: The Baby Hindustan Thread

Thank you. Restoration had commenced but due to internal feud , the workshop has closed down and the near future remains uncertain as talks are going on. Attaching pictures of the progress so far.

Re: The Baby Hindustan Thread

A period picture of a Baby Hindustan. Note the pinstriping on the wheels like their Morris cousins. The hubcaps on this car seem to have a letter in the centre, but not clear enough to ascertain what exactly. Perhaps an accessory?

Shouldn't it be 948cc OHV engine as it is a 1956 model

Re: The Baby Hindustan Thread

When (and why) did they change from Hindusthan to Hindustan?

Maybe owner wanted it to look like a Morris and sourced these caps and put on?
