The original color of the car is also very unique. I hope that the new color that would be applied is similar to the original color.

All my best wishes for this awesome restoration, Pawan.

Do you notice much difference in the existing paint on the car when compared with other cars of same vintage (or even the recent "normal" cars)? Would re-painting this require a special/different process/treatment?
Thanks to everyone showing interest in this car, well its always a BIG responsibility when it comes to restoring such beauties. Though i am excited to the core, but yet being very cautious at every step i take during its REFRESH phase of life for this car. I just hope i do justice.

The bodywork was done, though it looked like a straight forward paint job, it was indeed tough to take out that surface of non 2K paint, take out the tiny dents and deep gashes, the older paint was oxidised so badly that it just came off with 2000 grit , this meant the base is weak, So my job now is to make sure we have a proper adhering surface, had to ensure the surfacer and the old paint dont react. Sprayed the Glasurit Surfacer as of today, the car will rest for over 48 hours, later which we will check for surface reactions, Get the Air-conditioned serviced, spray another coat of surfacer and the car will head straight to the paint booth.

Wow, not many get a chance to work on a Royal beauty in India. Looking at your past restorations I don't know what to expect with the RR. Frankly, to my untrained eyes the car looked great in the first pic itself! Waiting your final restoration pictures. Please share details on the kind of paint you are using.

P.S: Can you share the details about the car next to RR in the first pic? Post #16.

Absolutely beautiful car, Pavan. You are lucky to be contributing to getting her back on the road. Good luck!

Probably a good idea to order one of these too : Workshop Manual.

Another feather in your cap.

A picture of the car in better days

Car belongs to one Mr Menon if I am correct (based on the details published during the Bangalore Club Rally).

Am curious about the Buckingham Palace piece as the Royal Family use only use Rolls Royces as official limousines. Their personal cars were usually Rovers, Daimlers and Vauxhall station wagons. Nowadays, it is mainly Range Rovers although the odd VW has slipped in!

It belongs to Mr Menon, and the Buckingham palace piece should be best explained by Ravipoll , will update soon.

We had to work on the Air conditioning system, Who best than good old Saju that i've known for over a decade, and he instantly noticed the blockage. sadly the below 2 components have failed and now looking at replacement, and luckily new replacements should reach tomorrow

Another awesome project Pavan, wishing you all the very best. It will be a treat to see the car back in her original state and more so to take her out for a spin. Is your workshop located in Vidyaranyapura, Bangalore and do you mind curious visitors?

The Impala V8 will soon get into the painting stage in a couple of days.

Regarding the Updates, A marathon 15 hours and the paint job done. Shade chosen was original SILVER MINK but from GLASURIT instead of ICI.
