This is near Gay Lord restaurant . Was for a very long time black and rotting. Happy to see it back on its feet.

Cheers

Thanks for sharing - it is usually tucked away inside the building. If I remember right it is a Morris Oxford, practically the same thing.

Re: The Hindustan 14 Thread

Found this old picture of my time in Lucknow!

Our family owned a Hindustan 14 , which was purchased brand new for around 9,000 INR then, by my Mothers's dad.

This picture if from a vintage car rally around 1994. Me at extreme left,Dad in the middle and cousin next to him. Recall calling this car Pom pom for some reason I have no idea about. Those indicators on B pillar were fascinating which used to emerge out like an arm with an amber light on them which looked stunning.

This rally had a start vintage named "Killer". Apparently it was the car Godsey used for arriving to assassinate MK Gandhi.

Another interesting Studebaker connection. Here are brochures for a 1947 Studebaker and an early brochure for the Hindustan 14, I assume 1949/1950.

Re: The Hindustan 14 Thread

I know someone who has a hindustan 14, 1950's model. Body and interiors are intact and original, in mint condition. But, the original engine has been replaced with a matador engine many year ago. We have no clue where the original engine has gone now.

Any chance I can lay hands on an original hindustan 14 engine ?

What other options do I have?

When application is made to re-register the vintage car, transport dept will want to see the original engine or something close. My friend has not renewed registration after it expired in 2011.
