John Lawrence made my day by sharing this wonderful nostalgia picture from 1964, UPASI Meet. Dad participated in this event in his 1951 Vanguard!

Seen in the car (R to L) are Jack Lawrence, his sons John & Lloyd and his trusted personal assistant M T Samuel. The event official on the left is not identified.


How wonderful to relive nostalgia, as we end 2020 once for all!

Did this meet happen in Bombay. There is also a Wellington Gymkhana here in Santacruz area.

Wellington is a military garrison located between Ooty and Coonoor. It houses the staff college where many officers get trained. some retire and settle there like Field Marshal Manekshaw and General Sundarji. UPASI stands for United Planters Association of South India

Had an opportunity to catch up with Dodge. My connect with the car, happily remains. Lovely memories



November 2016 is when the car was sold. Happy that the car has remained in Bangalore and with a passionate owner too.

Would like to thank Sulaiman Jamal, the current owner of the car for giving my father and me the opportunity to drive the Dodge across Whitefield. We had a memorable time with the car

The car looks good. Almost 5 years have passed since she moved on from me


Getting see this hood emblem was one of my highlights. I searched for almost 2 years, before I could find one. It had the wrong description and hence I could buy it without much bidding on eBay!


Very few cars in India have such a beautiful and original hood emblem

My father's colleague Madiah (now late) was in Non-Such Estate. His son shared this picture from 1978, with him and the his sons in the car!
