Good job. The front suspension is from an RX, I suppose. Why don't you try and source the original Earles type suspension

Thank you for your kind words.
No, the suspension is of this bike only. There were couple of models came with RD 350 front suspension. Escorts India even has no idea how many models of Rajdoot they introduced during early 80's (123,124 etc). This particular model was not electronic like the Excel-T, or didn't have a circular tail lamp and small side covers like the Super D, but had this suspension and circular headlamp with an external Speedometer, exactly same as that of RD 350 with maximum reading of 120 KMPH (Picture attached). This bike came home in 1983, and my dad is the one and only person using it until recently. The only modification he did was, chopped of the side covers in the lower part a bit to access the greasing points easily.

With the cable placed so far from the choke plunger, the plunger wont open up fully upon depressing the cable operated choke lever near the handle bar. Buy a Spaco choke lever, spring, and its top cover of an Auto rickshaw. All the above should cost you not more than Rs30. Remove this lever and the choke piston and drop the newly bought parts straight inside. And you are done.
Better carry the old lever + choke piston to the shop. Tell him you want to convert this to cable operation.

Re: Restoration: Renewing my Rajdoot 175 (1972 Model)

Yesterday someone asked me about what does the different sections of part number denote?

I think it is a common question that comes in everybody's mind.

Explanation is commingled right from the catalogue.

Let us consider Part no 111.05.04.03

111 denotes the model here its "Rajdoot"

05 denotes the "assembly" here it is 'wheel complete rear'

04 denotes "Sub Assembly" here it is 'wheel hub cover'

03 denotes a "part in sub assembly" here it is 'cam expander'

Re: Restoration: Renewing my Rajdoot 175 (1972 Model)

Just got the unused, old stock & original WFM type cylinder that was used in rajdoot till 1974.

These are real heavy stuff and lasted lifelong. Mine old one has done 60k km and now needs boring to recieve 1st oversize piston.

However during transit it upper heat sink plate broke off. If someone can provide me that I shall be highly obliged.
