Hey I think a car like this featured in the song "Ek rasta aha aha.....do rahi" from the movie Ram Balram (1980- but did Sipani start back then itself??)
If anyone here has seen that song......the car's red in colour......and in the middle of the song is a scene where Amitabh & Dharmendra actually lift it & carry it across a river while crossing!
And I used to see one here in Blue too, a junked & abandoned one.....was sitting in a lane for ages until it disappeared one day....but I rem. it had some mod. done on it.....had an opening at the back too....did Badals have this feature?

Dolphin's do keep popping up, but there is an issue to get good tyres. Some commercial tyres fit, but no proper car tyre is available.
You will not have a good ride on the commercial tyres.
Otherwise the car was zippy.

I used to have a Dolphin converted to run on Maruti wheels / tyres. Its possible but the gearing gets messed up and you feel a drop in power.

I've seen these cars. One is a station wagon and the other is a hatch. One of my friends had one many years ago. The Reliant in UK was also not a success. There used to be a 3 wheeled version (like the one in Mr. Bean) in the locality where I used to live when studying in the UK.
