Have heard it to be a great handler..Seen in it Sholavaram as also sriperumbudur..One Dr. Saboo used to beat the hell out of the M800s in those days...

AND IT IS A REAR WHEEL DRIVE..would love to pick one up and restore..it..But what do we do to the engine parts..heard they are as extinct as Dinosaurs..

Any probable swaps..Experts.?

On a not-too-related note, I'd learnt that Dr. Saboo used to usually drive Heralds??

Dr. Saboo used to drive many cars..If' you'd watched him in action, you'd understand what i mean..

The racing of the 80s and early 90s saw a few men race every race in different machines..Ofcourse the noteworthy wins were the Dolphins BEATING the 800s..

Infact..during one of the first races of the M800s..It was run plain without much mods..the engines were so smooth and you would only hear the WHINE of the suzuki engines unlike the roar of the Dolphin..

Ofcourse all this is more than a decade ago when Motor racing was a sport of the Elite class..

Ohh...ok....but what I meant was, from what I'd learnt bout him, Heralds were his favourite cars to race in.....I'd got to know about him (albeit not much) around 6-7 years ago from a friend of his in S.Africa (where he'd later settled) that he'd raced many a Heralds (right down to their limits!) in Indian rallies & even had many videos of the same. She said that unfortunately he's no more but she would try & get more info. on the cars he raced from his widow.
'never been in touch with that lady since.

Until about 2000, a company in Bangalore used to manufacture components for the reliant engine, including the cylinder block and cylinder head, and source other major components such as the pistons and rods, and supply this to Reliant, UK. Not sure if they still do that.

Hey goddy can only afford one ride at a time. It should be done sometime soon if a certain biker decides to do keep up the promise.

I think a certain biker cannot keep up his promise unless certain biker ensures certain other promises are also kept.

I'm certain about that.
