At the risk of not confusing you more I would still prefer the Blue . You already have 2 Cherry Red cars in your garage, the RR and the Miata!

Once while talking car colours with Carl we agreed upon a point that the paints for old cars should never be shiny. They steal the appeal factor. A powdery finish (if thats a word) close to matt and not at all glossy!

AAAARRRGGGHH!! What do I do. Now im in a dilemma. You're right about the two red cars I have (and one more cherry red car may be added soon if everything goes right but more on that later.) Ill just give it a thought. Maybe i should get a poll. Kiran, wanna do the honours and generate a poll re, which colour the car should be? Options: Vine Red and White, Blue and White or Emerald Green and White or MIdnite Blue and White. PS Black is not an option. This is too much! Decisions Decisions.

Well I disagree. The real appeal of a restored car is seeing it shining like new & that's one thing that really makes people appreciate the hard work & commitment that's gone into the car to make it look like as if it's just come out of the showroom.

Dear It was Midtown Blue. A speciallity with Midtown motors, they added a lil black and metallic blue to midnight blue and made the paint with gloss additives.

If you are considering other options - then do consider a metallic Silver with Black top. My Dad used to have a Silver Fiat in the early 60's - it looked nice he used to say. With black interiors it should look good.

Cheers

I think Mods will have to add one. Let me find a mod who is online.

Arre baba what does the Palio's colour have to do with this? I went by the Blue car posted here.

Ishan, I guess you did not get my point. If I remember correctly, the original Fiat which was rolled out of the showroom back then did not have a glossy / shiny paint. The paint quality was very very laid back without much of lustre. It does Shine but its a finish you cant explain but show on some cars. Thats how I want to put across. A good paint job is of course welcome. I have seen very few cars in original paint. See Presidents Premier President in original colour to get what I am trying to say - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/members/president.html

Theres a subtle difference between modern 2k paints and the older duco finishes...2k paints have very high shine and gloss, but the older paints had tremendous depth and richness...dont get me wrong, 2k is a fantastic paint system and it cant go wrong if used...its just that the depth and richness sometimes isnt there...anybody following me or am i talking gibberish?

heres one that strangely enough i liked...

but to make things easier (or more difficult), my vote goes to the blue you had earlier decided, with a white top...ivory actually...its more in keeping with the period colours....very few 1100s were offered in red or deep red.

Sorry..I havent been a part of this thread before..but would like to comment now.
Here are some ideas that I have in my mind.

1.) Complete Candy red exterior with Off white interiors..and chrome parts scattered around.

2.) Blue..(but I cant express what kind of shade it has to be..may be i'll find some pics) with white interiors.. and again chrome all around..
