Congratulations ronk. Buying a 40 year old car is a pretty unusual choice for a 1st car. But as they say, its passion that makes life interesting.

All the best with the restoration. Do take pictures at each stage...makes for a beautiful archive in the end.

Well, not if your a vintage/classic car nut!

Anyways, welcome aboard ronk! Nice to see another 1100 Delight owner!
Reg. the originality aspects of your car, looking at the pic. the front grille, indicators & side-trim are not original........but they can be very much sourced out...
Btw, I own a 1965 1100 delight & am in the process of carrying out a rolling resto on her...you can interact with fellow fiat enthusiasts & ask advice/help in the "Fiat classic car club of India" thread...

Great buy Ronk. The car sports a Padmini Grill and badge and also the side light from the same later model and the originals, you may find it quite difficult to procure. The original dash should comprise of a three metered console (the larger speedo in the centre flanked by two smaller ones on each side) with two individual small led type of lights on either side, placed above each small meter. Please post the inside pics also. I sure the car is in excellent shape. Any other query you may have regarding the originality of the 1100D you may please contact our resident Fiat specialists viz, Karlosdeville, President and BEhram.Dhabar, to name a few. Believe me there are a lot of Fiat fanatics on this forum. Enjoy your ride and welcome to the Fiat Club.

thanks a ot people for the warm welcome.. well, as i see it.. tis is my introduction to the world of restoration.. as far as the usage goes, i won't be using it that much, hence could manage to buy this car.. restoration will be very slow since i just started working..
anyways , will keep everyone updated about the progress..
presently i'm really enjoying the car, and also the luxury of finally having a vehicle to move around in bangalore.. god, the public transport here was a pain!!
v16 - the instrument console seems to be the original one itself.
checked the car body properly today...
need little body work.. little rust under door etc.. but overall very good condition.
the radiator is leaking, little oil dripping, suspension sound, lots of clatter, fuel gauge not working, some lights not working..
will get these fixed slowly, then get the interiors in decent shape.. anyways, any idea how much a moderate paint job will cost me?? would like the roof to be white, and the rest dark blue..

Your paint job should not cost you much. What is the deciding factor is how much body work there is. Lovely choice mate. This is what she will probably look like. Go through the thread. My cars being restored, almost complete now. It has many interesting colour schemes suggested by our members with pics. Could help you decide

Congratulations! However, the car is having clear headlamps which are not the stock one. The stock headlamps had lines on the plastic lens.

The clear headlamps are from the Amby grand, same as on our car.
