Woooooow, car looks awe-some!! Although (just IMHO!) 'wouldve had a complete effect with the original rims with broad white-walls and chrome hubcaps!
Anyways, congrats steer! And hats off to the restorers, Vijay et al!

Are u referring to KLC-101?? If so, the car was owned by my neighbor. It was in good condition, i bugged him for a long time to sell it and he agreed, but one fine day, after i came home after an outstation trip, the car was gone!. For about 20K!!

The car looks fantastic, waiting for better pictures to come in, really like the wheels, those Gypsy rims go well with the Amby, they look better than my Alloys.

Thanks all for your good wishes. I will post pics soon - need some sleep desperately now as I drove nearly all the way (gave up before Chalkkudy, about 50 kms from Cochin when my legs cramped from working the overly high pedals continuously. Hadnt slept the previous night as well and I really didnt expect to be driving all the way - thought I'd give up about half way, but the fun of breaking in this old lady was too much to share with the 2 others.

We first cajoled her while trying to find the limits, and once we'd come to grips with the old lady we really thrashed her around. She clocked 130 kmph on the L&T byepass on prabhuav's Scorpio that was behind us - our speedo wasnt working. We also did the same kind of speeds on the Mettur-Bhavani route.

And she returned 15 kmpl with a slight leak in the petrol tank.

The engine is very coarse, though. Sounds more like a diesel - I suspect the carb needs setting. Then there are a lot of mechanical issues to be sorted out.

The car is perfect on the exterior - the body job and paint finish are out of this world. Not a squeak from the body panels after really throwing her around on bad roads, but the steering, suspension, 'dash' and other parts are squeaking, squealing and rattling all around.

Fantastic presence and exterior finish, above average and partially incomplete interiors and bad mechanicals is how I would describe her after the journey.

Now I need to get some sleep. Before that, thanks Rohan - this wouldnt have been possible without you. Thanks prabhuav for all that support and personal involvement when it really mattered. Thanks Santhosh and his team of painters and tinkers for that phenomenal job on the body.
