Nice pictorial description given on the above split.

I assume that the above split runs damn well, such a nice bus could have been best retained spot original, The reverse lights are missing, the interior lights are borrowed from some later model car. The 1500 tag does no justice to the split also which as per me is 1300 originally for a pre 1966 bus.
All in all a great looking bus.
Yes Kadam a great looking bus But must point out that reversing lights were not fitted to buses of this year also 63/64 Buses had 1200 and 1500 engines fitted as standard .It is also not always best retained spot original. These buses are built to be used and in this modern day traffic certain modifications done properly can be necessary.as long as they are reversable.
but please dont get me started on this subject.

I was only relating to the originality.

I am not a person who believes in showpieces. A Car is better run on road than in a showcase.

All in all i felt this Bus deserves a 10/10 for being run like a modern day automobilecheers:

I think i saw this VW van in Panjim in Feb'08. Pretty nicely maintained and looks cool in person

I was in Panjim city to pick up a car for rent and saw this outside their office. Rohan Fonseca was along with me.

Rohan, is it the same van?

That was one scary and memorable experience. Yup, we wouldn't have braved it but for the split.

Your welcome Santosh for the pics.
It seems Kadam and Santosh ,that we all feel the same way then as to the preservation of these old VWs, I have also had problems with dogs
whilst trying to photo old cars, just for the love of them and making a quick getaway to the car with the dogs a few steps behind me

Did you manage to get any pics of the VW on that occasion

Nice to see these VW's still alive in Goa..

Reminds me of the old hindi movies, where these VW's were used for smuggling scenes..

there is one in Bangalore at Innovative Film City (IFC) near Bidadi which has thousands of copper coins stuck on it.. was glad to hop into it & was amazed to see the interiors really in good shape..

Sadly it was dumped in a corner..

Cheers,
C10.

Rohan,

Since i myself am restoring a 1971-72 Baywindow Bus, i would appreciate if any baywindow restoration pics could be put over here. That would help me and others also.cheers:

I see more of split now than a Bay.

hi guys,
when in Goa do visit Premanand's workshop in Verem (it is enroute to fort aguada from panaji , just after verem market on the right side).he has not one but TWO split screen buses being restored plus a few bettles.he mentions one of the bus as rare because of the configuration of the side doors.
cheers
