ok,is this the one that comes with the light and how does the one without light looks like, as per my knowledge they look the same as the GB plate (without the year) on my car?i saw many such plates during some shows in Germany D for German cars,CH for cars from Switzerland,I for Italians etc etc

The one I had posted is not the lighted BADGE,but is exactly similar to that except that it does not have the provision for the bulb.
Genuine Wegu and SWF had both the lighted and ordinary badges and are even now available ,but at very high prices.
the plate you have shown is available aplenty for less than Rs.1000/-(after conversion).

Coming back to the topic.

I got hold of the Repro Antenna for my VW today.

I need to know weather this was the kind of antenna used for a 1967.....?

Also picked up the accelerator pedal repair kit :)

Finally found where and how to fit the antenna..

Also got number plates made in German Style :)

i have put the same antenna on my 61, i looks good and cool , i got it from UK made by WCM,top quality,also the result with radio is nice as it gives full strength signal even when closed, any ways keeping signal aside its your choice and to me it looks great especially the angle 45,so go ahead all the best,here is the pic of my similar antenna,mounted on the driver side

The wolfsburg sticker on the rear view mirror looks good,some little suggestion, try to find or fabricate the visors for the foglamps too, they will look good with the headlight eyebrows, hunt or fabricate an external sunvisor over the windscreen, all the 3 will be a super match.add the wolfsburg hood crest logo,its available in a very good original quality with part no and vw mexico packing on major online stores, will give your car an additional touch, keep going the bug looks nice

I am on a look out for the front sun-visor, lets see how long till i find one.

Mine is a 1967 1500cc and does not come with Wolfsburg hood crest.

Drove it to office today after a loong time, it was fun.

Have 2 issues, will have to sort that out ASAP

1) FE seems to have been drastically down, 7 litres for 55 kms:Frustrati i always used to get an average of 14 kmpl

2) Door setting needs to be done, winder handle key is lost.

BTW. got this very different kind of Fuel pump today, i dont know what make it is, but is really heavy, and the best part is, the diaphram is easily replaceble from the Maruti Omni or the Maruti - 800:D

Looks like one of the cheap TAIWANESE repro fuel pumps .The genuine one was the PIERBURG (GERMAN) .The Brazilian replacement was BROSOL.
Of course ,in both those pumps one cannot use maruti 800 fuel pump diaphragm:)

This looks to be one of those aftermarket (neither Pierburg, nor Brosol) fuel pumps that were popular with kit cars / custom buggies based on the VW platform.

The only additional feature these type of pumps offer over stock VW pumps is the ability to adjust the position of the inlet & outlet pipes. So if there have any clearance issues (fuel lines touching other engine compenents), one can adjust the position of the inlet/outlet pipes on the pump. Shown below is a picture of a similar pump with the inlet pipe in a different position and also the procedure to adjust the inlet pipe position.



However, due to the additional joint in the body (to allow for adjustment), these are considered to be more prone to leakage.

My personal view is that unless there is a compelling need to adjust the position of the fuel lines, it's safer not to use this kind of pump on a Beetle.

Thanks. Well i am yet to try that, but all my VW's have Brand new Brosol pumps right now, so maybe i might not need them in the looong time to come:D

And i cant thank you enough for the Wolfburg crest - Though i know that after 1966 the crest was never featured on the Beetle, but nonetheless, somehow i feel like adding it on my car...:D Tomorrow i shall post the pics.

I too need to buy a lot of cosmetic spares for my car, but will have to wait for some time, a result of buying the Webasto roof for my car :Frustrati
