Found this Beauty Close to Lalbagh in Bangalore (Morris 1000?)

Friends,

I found this old Beauty, which is maintained by his master very well. I wanted to really take the snaps of this car in the flesh, but most of the time it was covered and was lucky today.

P:S: Sorry for the PICS quality, as its taken from my MOTO Q8. I will try for better PICS shortly using my Sony

MODS: Please merge if this thread already exists.

Hey Man,

It was not intentional, I was driving my Ford and the Traffic Signal showed Green, so I was helpless :-( Driving in one hand and tacking the PICS on MOTO Q which has a lousy 1.3 MP

@ajmat,

you are bang on, I am that knowledgeable when it comes to Vintage cars, I recall that I saw Minor 1000 in the back.

I will try and get better PICS using my digital camera, If I am lucky enough to see the vehicle tomorrow :-) and if the Beauty is not covered with a burka

Regards

Wasnt this known as the Tiger Morris here? Or is this an imported 1000?

This OHV 1000cc Morris Minor was locally termed the Tiger, though I dont think it was ever officially called that. The most notable change is the front grille, larger lights, glass etc.

This is a 1969 MorrisMinor 1100(1098cc).The original owner imported this from South Africa. was up for sale along with a spare engine and gear box in 2004.
think it had a GOA registration number.

Is that the one known as the 'Tiger' ? My friend's (Brainscooper on the forum) father had one for a long time - could do 80 mph (MILES per hour) quite easily even though it was over 45 years old.

EDIT: I have the answer - just read Karlos' post.
