Going through various pictures uploaded in the past, we can see the following.
Continuing this discussion further - Karlos do you have any of these cars Chassis or engine number plates. This would help us identify the serial number breaks.

And I recently saw a car with millicento badge -

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-millicento-badge-.jpg

This had a cute looking front badge as well, never seen before -

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-millicento-badge-front-.jpg

But looking at the VIN plate, this one seems to be a Select -(Am I right here?) Cause the Engine no starts with PA.

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-vin-plate-.jpg

I have a 59 Model which has a VIN plate engine no also starting with PA

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-select-vin-plate.jpg

So assuming, the millicento that I talk of is supposedly a Select. I was unable to check the RC book of the same.

Now coming back to Millicento check this -

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-58-select-engine-bay.jpg

This is a 58 Select, with the elegant type air filter. The tappet / rocker arm cover is the correct type with studs and collar on cover bolt holes.

The vin plate reads totally different

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-50-select-vin-plate.jpg

The engine number matches the plate.

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-engine-number.jpg

Further the RC book - mentions a date of 23/05/1958.

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-imag5837-1024x574.jpg

Would this then mean this is a Millicento and not a select.

Awaiting for answers from the fiat gurus.

Re: Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)

1958 means it is a Millicento and not a SELECT.

Ajay, thanks. So the blue car is definitely milicento and the cream one simply modified. How do the vin plate of Elegant look like.

The 1958 Fiat does not have PA (Premier Auto) stamped.

That's quite a find!
Where did you see this car btw? In Bangalore or Madras?

The car is in Bangalore right now.

Do any one has VIN plate information of Elegant Fiat. Also then this car then should have the millecento badge.

Re: Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)

Continuing on the discussion held here

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/vintag...mumbai-85.html

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/post-w...er-select.html

I was given a special permission to photograph the car standing at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Museum. Not many parts on the car are original and would take a lot to get there, but still a nice one. Here are the pictures -

The front is beautifully done (lenses are not original tough)

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-1-1024x574.jpg

The rear re positioned fiat script, note the nice period registration number.

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-2-1024x574.jpg

The car sports whitewall tyres. The wheel caps have typical nuts to keep them in place.

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-aa-membersip-574x1024.jpg

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-parliament-parking-sticker-1024x574.jpg

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-period-shade-1024x574.jpg

As with many Delhi cars, this one has registration number inscribed on the window glasses as well

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-reg-number-inscription-1024x574.jpg

The original roof light and grab handle

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-grab-handle-roof-light-1024x574.jpg

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-dashboard-1024x574.jpg

The original cloth door trim, installed during the restoration.

Re: Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)

Continuing further -

The under dash area is not the best spot of this car (understandable for a display only piece)

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-parcel-tray-1024x574.jpg

The engine seems original but with most of the original items replaced.

Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)-engine-bay-1024x574.jpg

I was allowed only a little amount of time to picture the beauty. So could not check on VIN numbers and any other details.
