A Bunch of Lambrettas.

I was pottering around the colony aimlessly today (as usual) wondering what i could do. Suddenly it struck me!! I had seen a couple of Lambrettas a while ago near Kings Circle. So i decided to check them out hoping they would still be there. and when i reached the spot, well...i was quitw blown away!! At least 10 Lambrettas standing side by side. I was in scooter heaven!! Below are some pics. I really want one of these. DAD, i hope you are reading this. I really want to restore one of these, paint it Powder Blue/Pista Green and white. Wear a nice pair of shorts and ride this on sunday evening!!! Ahh..Majja Ni life!!

Sorry if the pics are a little hazy. It was raining when i took the pics.

Atleast for that LD I can say that youve got competition, dikra!
That sure takes the limelight! BMF 2160 I guess is a 60-61 series 2 although it has the later type horncast.
Nice to see so many of these at one time! Whats this place anyways? Some kind of garage?

Shorts? On a good ol' lambretta??! Hmm....it may suit the scoot better if you wear a nice pair of bell-bottoms a.k.a boot-cut pants and ride this on sunday evening!!!

Oh btw, almost forgot- coincidentally, I too came across a similar but smaller stash of lambrettas owned by a friend today.

'will have more news to share on that later!

This is ON THE ROAD. Not a garage. Sum guy tinkers with these. I am going to meet him tomorrow. Can you throw some light on the various models in that line up. I particularly like the one with the center light and the one with the big fenders.

The one with the ccentre light is a late 50s LD 150. Its the later version with the horn mounted on the handlebar (the early versions had a cycle type handlebar)
The blue & white one, as I said seemes to be an early series 2 Li150, although the horncast is from a later model (identified by the bigger pear shaped horn grille- early ones had a smaller & slightly round shaped horn grille.)

Its pretty obvious they belong to some wheeler dealer, or perhaps worse still, an exporter. No collector in his right mind would park them all on the road. As I told Cyrus yesterday, if any of them are for sale, expect to hear ridiculous prices. My guess would be these are ready for export.

Wow! That's a great find Cyrus. But like the others have said, they may most probably be exported.

P.S: If not, i'm in queue for the Ld too!!

I am also in Q for the LD 150.on second thoughts why not we BHPians conduct a mock online auction for this.
a sort of price discovery mechanism.
here is my take: Rs.40000/-
