VW1200 steering wheel

The standard version of the VW 1200 had an unique steering wheel.
This wheel has no horn ring or recess for one.The horn button is a plain black one similar to the Bus horn button

They are in Pune maybe upto tomorrow, after which they proceed to Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi and then back to Bombay before shipping out. We hope to catch them in Bombay with our VWs.

You can read more about their travels at http://www.leroadtrip.com/
Awesome. We definitely should have a VW meet up in Bombay when they arrive here.

Re: Classic Volkswagens in India

I had seen this car in a petrol bunk near Richmond road in Bangalore. I remember seeing VW logo on its rear, so I am posting the photo here. I am not able to identify the car.

I was in a BMTC Volvo bus, hence the dirty picture :-D

That is not a VW, but probably an AMC Gremlin. I think pics were posted recently elsewhere on the forum.

Yes, definitely an AMC Gremlin - a white one used to be parked opposite my house a couple of years ago and then disappeared.

I recently bought an mk2 jetta for restoration and was wondering where i can find parts for it. windshield is cracked so that would require replacement first.

Red+Yellow!

A sight for sore eyes! Getting lost in the bylanes of Chennai is not such a bad thing afterall!

Have these cars been spotted before?

Yes, and if my info is correct this has been in long term ownership of one enthusiast with surname Pratap. also the Yellow beetle could be originally from Trivandrum

Re: Classic Volkswagens in India

Spotted two VW classics on Hennur Main Road:

A white Beetle which looks like someone's daily ride, and a Blue/White KLE registration Bus.

Any inputs on these cars ?

thanks
Srinivas
