Wow thats a real good progress pal.

Guys for your info. I had been to Bangalore and met Pavan and his big and real unique garage with all those beauties there.

It was great meeting you pavan. And as i told you, you look so young than i had imagined. And you have taken great care of those beauties. May you have the luck to restore many more cars to fulfill your passion.

Guys you wont believe, my Swift DDiS could not catch up with his 1997 Maruti 800 running on steroids with a more crazy driver inside. The car sounds great with those FFE and K&N.

I have some pics taken with the beauty and the Owner himself. But would post in only with your permission Pavan.

He s an amazing man with real passion for cars.

Cheers to Pavan

Now the Bus is likely to be finished anytime soon. It would have taken around 14 months. What did Pavan learn from this restoration?
Well, that is his privilage to tell us and I won't spoil his story on his efforts.
But for anyone restoring a car, following may kindly considered: While doing the restoration of any car, tin work, painting, upholstry etc, always try as far as possible to get a new set of rubbers, complete brake system spares to put all new and if the car is older, all new ignition parts like point, condenser, rotor, coil etc. One will never regret that.

Now we await the finale from Pavan

One more thing. If a car has been standing idle, then you can try to clean and start the engine. But if the engine was removed, or you are fitting an engine that was lying out, then overhaul it without trying to us as is. Most engines which were lying out will require work anyway.
Cheers harit

Presently 95% of my restoration process is COMPLETE!

The last 5% thats remaining is the most important and the most difficult part

Anyways. i've waited enough all these months (Almost 2 yrs), i would rather wait for few more days now : ).

Some pics of wiring- Extremely wierd, the way the electrician connects those hundreds of wires , color codes them, multiplies / divides / adds and subtracts them(lol....) Too much of maths, I will never understand wiring ever.

Got it back home in the evening, and it was time to DRIVE and DRIVE and DRIVE. My bro along with my mom, wife, sis-in-law/ my kid ,just drove and drove it around our locality. Everyone were ecstatic on the drive, The bus is actually a great comfy cruiser, such a great comfort you get even over bad roads.. Great.

On an average the FE that i am roughly calculating would be around 8 - 10 kmpl (he he... Good)

Harit sir, i would put an end note on my experiences only after completion. Its not far anyways.

Some pics.

Yes buddy,

The Oval headlamp assembly is from Neolite, they also sell as OE spares for VW Bugs. The same units fit the amby also.

That is good progress pavan,

The last 5% of the work like you said is not really visible but thats where the peace of minds comes the most from . and the most headache as well.

Probably to power up the driver when he lacks energy

Pavan, I missed this thread for few days. It was a pleasure meeting you in person. Always wondered how you do the time-management with almost 5 projects simultaneously. As our ex-railway Lalluji and the internationally famous Mumbai Dabba wallas, you must have something unique to share the world. So when and where is the final photo session planned ?
