Ambassadors are still very popular in Kerala . The love for and nostalgic memories of Ambassadors from our members from Kerala on the FB page (Ambassador and Landmaster) is quite noteworthy.

A member AshokSRIndia has sent us about eighteen pictures of Ambassadors either being restored or invarious stages of decay. There are some other threads where these pictures could have been posted, but I have preferred this thread:

Hats off to Karl and Mr. Badamikar for maintaining their vehicles in pristine condition. Even the Autocar article made interesting reading. Keep up the good work.

An Ambassador Station Wagon (Mark 4) from the early 1980's.These were badged as Hindustan by HM. The car belongs to Southern Railway and is from Kerala.

The old car has been carefully maintained and the efforts of the SR officials need to be commended.When almost every govt department is angling for newer cars, this car is a rare survivor. However, we find the condition of the front tyres deplorable & unsafe.

Recently I was in Trivandrum and incidentaly live quiet close the S Railway Quarters there. I used to see this car on a daily basis for last one month, but never caught it stationary to get a pic. Khuddos to all involved in keeping this in good nick. This is a early 1983 model I believe (Registered around April/May 1983).

I don't know if this car from Trivandrum has been posted here before, but thought it should be here.

With the same owners since new in 1966 (its a well known ownership - people who knows are requested to refrain in respect to their privacy).





Has been this colour since I have seen this car. The rims were body colour originally, the red seem to be a new addition. Hope they would source the original style wheel caps as well.

Good I was not able to get the front view - as the car has been fitted with a Mark 3 grill and the Reverse Lamp

Otherwise it appears to be original and a daily runner.

Ambassadors from Kolkata - pictures by Mr Souryadeep Mukherjee, Kolkata.
The first picture is of a 1981 Mk 4, second and third are of a very old may be Mark I (its WBA) owned by the Govt of W.B. . It still has the petrol engine.
The fourth picture is of an early 1980's example.
