Behram,
I tried in Kurla Junk Yard when I was in Mumbai a while back but did not succeed. Being a newbie on TEAM-BHP, I don't think I get PM privileges (used to be there before). Can you PM me so that I can reply with my contact details. Thanks a ton.
Regards,
Sanjeet

After a brief hibernation period of almost 2 yrs in Pune I finally decided to bring down my 1956 fiat elegant to Mumbai and prepare her for the Mahableshwar run which will be held end of February.

So after a small service and cleanup I finally drove her to Mumbai with fellow bhpian and former owner of MTP karlosdeville in tow with his delight. Except for a tire puncture on MTP both cars reached Mumbai without any issue.Restoration of MTP 8389 a 1956 Fiat 1100-imageuploadedbyteambhp1391311093.778282.jpg

We drove straight to our classic car drive run in Mumbai where others were waiting for us

And now after 5 yrs. after she was restored time for a mini makeover

Re: Restoration of MTP 8389 a 1956 Fiat 1100

I have been hunting for the rear light and front parking light assembly for my fiat for a while now. These were lost when I had given the car for painting.
I have posted the pictures of the car before the paint job.
I found a couple of sellers on olx. I need some advice on what would work.
I think the parking light assembly will work but I am not sure about the rear light assemblies. Appreciate advice from the gurus. Thank You.

The parking light style is correct but they should be smaller for your model of fiat. These should be fine though in the interim. The rear tail lights are not correct. You will need a completely different assembly. Let me see if someone has them lying around in Mumbai.

Thanks Amol. As mentioned earlier on the thread by you, the model I have seems to be the early 1956. This model has the full red lenses for the rear lights. I found a seller for the lenses but still need to find the assembly.

Restoration of MTP 8389 a 1956 Fiat 1100

The longest I had ever driven my 1100 was from Mumbai to Pune but last season as my mercedes was in the garage I decided to take the car to Mahableshwar a hill town 300 kms from Mumbai and back. She did it without missing a beat and also proving why the Fiat 1100 ruled the roads of India for such a long time. Here she is posing at the regal club Mahableshwar Restoration of MTP 8389 a 1956 Fiat 1100-imageuploadedbyteambhp1405173550.760125.jpg can't believe that 6 yrs have passed since I restored her

Very, nice. More pictures please. But a gentle request, please post a separate thread documenting the progress. This would do more good to the beauty.

Re: and some more

Hello,
The car looks beautiful, I love the headlamps on the beauty, done really well. Unfortunately, the original headlamp rings of my 1956 Millecento got stolen from the garage, though I managed to get one replica set ordered from Italy. I was wondering if you could give me an idea of how and which headlamps would go well with those rings readily available in India. I was told once that RX100 headlamps or a Jawa headlight would set right for the original rings. Please help me with any ideas if you have so.
Thanks in advance.
Also, I envy that you have a pull starter, a very rare one I believe. The pictures of your beauty are great, happy to see some pictures of it.
