My evening with an Impala......

So, I found a few interesting cars being worked on in a garage in a famous south bombay college. I will let the Pictures do the talking for now.

The first set is of a 1960 Chevrolet Impala that was recently brought back on the road after around 15 years or so according to the owner.

Later, he took me for a spin from Buyculla to Bombay Central....With the TOP DOWN!!! And the stares we have had are all worth it!!

Here are the pictures.

Arre Cy, waaaawewaaaah!!!

A '59 Impala, that too a convertible!! How lucky can you get! And here I only have memories of these cars when they were used as barAt cars on hire those days!

And its quite a "virgin" car still!

I recommend that you post about this car on 59chevy.com

They have a little page about these cars in India.

Oh shoot, that was a Fiat ! What a godawful one at that. Can the guy part with his bumpers - they look a bit out of place in his contraption. besides, abdriver could use them for his to-be-restored Taxi.
The saab is sooo cute man !

Is it so damn difficult to get fiat spares in Mumbai?

Bangy its real easy to find Fiat spares and that too at throw away price. I picked up 2 bumpers, 4 wheel caps, a meter console and one carb for my Cousins Fiat Restoration for Rs.1500/-.

What a huugee impala, wow and the Saab looks a class apart. Nice find Cyrus

Arre Pavan, looks like I'll have to make a trip to Bangy soon. This is unbelievable boss !
I guess Mumbai has too many fiat guys, so too less spares.

Might be the case,

Our local gujri has so many spares " Ohh-Ree-Gee-Nal spares also", that'll be sufficient enough to dole out some 100 cars from any assembly line.cheers:

Pls feel free to take my help when visiting Bengaluru.
