Vespa & Lambretta Collection in Hyderabad

Hyderabad has suddenly become a happening place for restored Vespa and Lambretta and Im seeing a surge in prices too.A good lambreatta is available for not less than 35K and a Vespa at 15-20K.
The restorations are good enough and need a minor engine tweaking before one can set off.
My friend and Team Bhpian picked up a lovely Vespa which is a real beauty.
I would like to see alikes join in a Vespa / Lambretta Meet soon.
Stanher im sure will contribute to this meet.
Enjoy the pics of my Italian Beauties

Thanks to hillram I now have a beautiful 1963 model Vespa to call my own. I am posting here the pics taken by Ram on his cellphone. Haven't been able to take snaps of the scooter myself and would do so later. Picked this up just yesterday. Once again thanks to you Ram.

Congrats Hillram and Suren! Those are splending looking scooters, indeed! 35 K for a Lamby?? Yikes, I sold mine a decade ago for 3500.

The Lambretta Li with the Innocenti tag on the speedo kindled fond memories of my childhood and my dad (he was a Lambretta dealer)

@ Technocrat: Yes, this scooter is repainted. The mechanic who has worked on it has taken the pains to source quite a few repro stuff to add to it which I found pretty cool.

Congratulations Suren, nice looking scoot. For the last month or so Ive been using my 63 Vespa everyday, and enjoying it thoroughly. It still remains a very practical, reliable and convenient vehicle to use. It looks real ratty, but I don't yet have a heart to touch the original paint, especially since there is still zero rust.

Nice machines. I guess the scooter culture is slowly but steadily making a comeback. I beg to assume that are some immaculately maintained vespa's and Lambertta's among the parsi community in Mumbai. However, Hyderabad has has always been the hub of classic resoration.

Wow, nice to find this thread!
Anyways, congrats again Suren! So now you have a backup for a classic to take to the next rally in case your fiat still remains WIP 6050! Speaking of which my '60 s2 also would have that regn. series the way the work's progressing on it!

BTW, those are cellphone pics.?! Wow, I could never tell. Maybe I should get myself one of those, would be real handy!

And hillram: I thought your lambretta had an 'ADG' regn.?? You'd told me so plus I'd even seen it in earlier pics. in your bhp gallery!

And yes I definitely agree we should atleast have a scoot meet, considering the last 2 DHAA rallies that were called off! Provided my '60 s2 is ready of course!

Here's one such example, a lovely 1960 Vespa owned since new by a relative of mine.

This 'mod' styled accesorised Vespa made it to a Pune rally last year.

The Vespas brings back a lot of memories. My dad had a similar Cream coloured Vespa (similar to the blue and black) i was a kid. As a kid i was amused my the peculiar speedometer, the ridge on the headlight housing and that quaint little high beam indicator lamp. It had an ignition kill toggle switch inside the left tool box since the handle lock was just a lock. I don't know if the kill switch was a later addition or original fitment.

Once the rear wheel of the scoot overtook us when my dad, my younger brother and i were travelling on it. Fortunately nothing happened.

Awesome looking scooters Hillram and Suren. Just love those colors and they are in such immaculate condition. Lovely!

My dad used to own 2 Lambrettas and i have fond memories of using only Lamby's during my early childhood days. Infact, i learnt driving a 2-wheeler on a Lamby

Never could guess that they would be remembered so dotingly over the years, how i wish we hadn't sold them
