I have the opposite experience with the rubbers, good quality ones arn't available, ones available crack up and start leaking while asbestos thread does a good job w/o leaking.

The normal wear and tear spares are still in the market few original tough. if you are ready to search and store few for years ahead if you are planning to have the bike for long. But these bikes are generally maintenance free.

Boy! I love the Jawa!
After the Enfield and RD350, this is one of the few bikes that I love ( from the era of the 70-80s.)

Girish: What kind of Jawa are you looking to buy? If you specify, I will let you know if I come across anything worth it. As for me, Im always looking to upgrade my jawa/yezdi stable. Only if I could get a Type 354, just at least the engine, I would be the happiest person.

Looks WOW!!! Congratulations on maintaining her so well. And she starts ina single kick inspite of not being used for 2 months. Thats reliability for you. How many kms has she covered so far?

That makes it less straight forward, getting one and replacing parts with original parts would be easier and less expensive. Spares arnt hard to come by as long as one knows where to look, but is mix of original and local makes.
Hardly any maintainence otherwise.

BTW the maroon one is my bike, the photo is 6 months old, few external things have been replaced since then.

Girish: I kinda come across one almost every other day. Do u have a price in mind, coz I they come in all prices. If you give me a range, I will let you know.

The Cz on sale is sure a good one but way too expensive. Im sure the owner just doesn't want to part with it, come on he had it from day one.

Completely restored Peraks sell between US $3000-4000. I guess probably I'd manage to get a 500 twin OHV 4-stroker Jawa if I had 12.5 lacs.

Few bikes are here in mys .. but not sure if they are really willing to part with them. Few days back i picked up a roadking 94 model under restoration now painting it the original maroon with 18 size rim on the bike just like monarch.

will post the pictures soon.
