By the way, I saw a lovely 118NE in Devlali yesterday evening. I am resisting the temptation to buy it as I don't want to start all over again due to lack of time.

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar
You come to Ahmedabad and I will let you ride mine. I promise you will remember your old days of the "Master Car".
BTW, Can we see more of the interior pictures of your restored MRF6466.
I feel you should have a Chrome Grill coz the the best part of the 1100 is the grill. A shining chrome grill of the 1100 is the most beautiful fronts of all.
Also the black B & C-pillar look tacky. The chrome insert in the windshield is missing !

Vaidyaji, as far as I know the 67 models featured this same aluminium grille. Also in 67 the windscreen rubbers had no groove for the trim insert (the rubber pictured is grooved though).

Dear all - just to fill you in, MRF6466 has been repainted. I brought it home yesterday. It looks much better than before. Can you guess the colour? I guess I can give you all a clue. As is my trademark, the top, the instrument panel and the wheel rims are all black.

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

What made you repaint? I found the previous colour (beige/cream) was period and suited the model.

Nice finish. Now please put silver wheels, wheelcaps, body coloured top and dash.

I used to see this colour on many Padminis in the 80s, they looked quite regal with all original fittings in place.

I agree with Karl there is not enough contrast between the black and the brown to merit two tone. Silver wheels will look much better with single tone body. But very nice colour Looks better than before.

MRF 6466 - Fiatful Delight

@Behram and Cyrus: Awesome Paint job and body finish!
Simply superb and adorable workmanship! Kudos to Yogesh.

However, I very humbly join all the other gurus here in mentioning that the same car would have looked mindblowingly CLASSIC in full chocolate body colour with all OH REE G NAL fitments/trim, silver wheels with white walls and clip type NON-HOLED wheel caps.
You can then set a benchmark for the most OH REE G NAL Classic Delight, not that it is any less eye catching as of now. Am sure that, as usual, there is tremendous hard work, personal interaction and effort you have put in to make this project so appreciable.

And Behram, this time the car looks higher than normal.
Has the suspension and the rear leaf springs been worked upon freshly?

All the BESHT!
