Sunshade !

Anjan thanks for your comments.. While a huge amount of work still remains on the car, I'm really really enjoying driving her around, enjoying the admiring glances, thumbs ups, and comments. Seeing the horizontal red ribbon of the speedo move, gives me a high !! The engine note is.. well, music.
I particularly LOVE the first gear take - off, so unique to rear wheel driven cars, and MRX 6839 has left many a new car stunned in her wake, at traffic lights.
Finally got the sunshade fitted, it adds miles of character to the car. Some pics, enjoy !

Like the all new pictures of the restored beauty, Super Select. True the sunshade adds character to the car's looks.

I really agree with you Anjan, the sunshade adds character to the car's looks & also looks much aggressive now to conquer the roads confidently.

Ravi, The car looks absolutely stunning now. The sunshade adds a lot of character too. I had a friends Dukkar with me for some time, and i really miss the driving pleasure that the car offered. Maybe i should reconsider getting a fiat!

Yes, the MRF white walls are still available but really don't know for how much longer once the FIAT Taxis get phased out and the demand reduces. Presently, tyre and tube retail at around 2K in mumbai.

Contact your nearest MRF dealer, he will order a set from you. Even in Mumbai they are not available at all outlets. But as Roni says rush and get your set they may not be available for much longer.

Hrishi, Amol, Anjan, and Jay, thanks a lot for your comments !
On the whitewalls: I got mine from Ashirwad tyres, at Dadar (E) and yes, they are drying up. Guys, is there any way one can buy a set and preserve it for a few years ? We Fiat guys are ever hopeful of getting our hands on another Fiat, and then what if whitewalls are not available then ? .
Seriously, can tyres be stored and preserved ? To the best of my knowledge they crack up if not used..

White Walls

Don't worry Ravi. No need to stock the MRF's right now at least. I'm sure they will still be in production indefinately. But if it does come to "drying up" situation then we FIAT guys are always known to find a way out.
And by then custom duties may also get affordable.
Got the hint, I suppose?

Was curious to know what you owned. Guessed it'd be a Fiat. But the moment I clicked on this thread and seen the first pic I was like, okay another black Fiat. Then I clicked on the last page (Page 16) and was quite taken back. Very very beautifully done.

Where do you get the chrome-plating done from?!
