1) Oh-ree-G-nal rear view mirror with light. The light switch is crisp as new. The stem has that very very rare aluminium cover to hide the electrical wire.

2) Oh-ree-G-nal 'Sipea' starter switch, with FIAT key.

3) Shiny aluminium gear knob.

I'm thrilled to bits - thanks again, Adheesh !

Re: Fiatful goodies !!

Ravi bhai i think Mr Singh must be referring to the rear grab handles. The one which is fixed with one bolt at the roof just above the rear window glass.
Have marked the part in the picture.

Thanks a lot Sambit !! Let's catch up soon.

More importantly, the forum needs to see your Ford Prefect and Austin 10 !

Also, you need to get yourself a Fiat - let's get cracking on that.

Re: My 1962 Fiat Super Select - the journey begins.

Read through the thread, cant say anything but awesome.

The attention to detail is spot on....

Did it cost you a arm & a leg for the restoration then ??

Well done honestly.

Re: My 1962 Fiat Super Select - the journey begins.

Thanks Allana, for your kind words. Keeps the ol' fire burning !!

That said, a huge amount of work needs to be taken in hand on 6839, post monsoon, viz-

Engine bay clean-up and 'dress up'
Commission the Oh-ree-G-nal wheels I've got, fit the clips.
Await Oh-ree-G-nal hubcaps. I've been told, that once I do up the wheels, God will grant me the said hubcaps. So I shall.
Interiors - chiefly upholstery.
Some tiny mechanical niggles to be attended to.

Otherwise, she's running fine and fit - fighting her third monsoon in the open. I drive her around aggressively on hot dry days, to get her dried and aired out.

Re: My 1962 Fiat Super Select - the journey begins.

Saturday was a fantastic dream day for me and MRX 6839.

The friendly farishta from chor bazaar called - he'd got a set of Oh-Ree-G-Nal hub caps for me.

Wow, guys - you have no idea how overjoyed, overwhelmed, and at a loss of words I am. After three years, MRX will have the set of shoes she deserves. I already have the wheels, and the clips. Time to get them refurbished, clips fitted, and we're good to go

I presume the car is to be finished by this year.
Ha Ha, Sagar - I think you've gotten confused and replied to the wrong person / wrong thread

But yes, 2012 has started off well, and will be great for 6839. Thanks !!

Wowie, Congrats ravi!! Changli aahe re!

Am equally thrilled that you got a full set of the original hubcaps and in what good condition- best part is NO holes drilled through them! You sure struck GOLD this time!

However, I advise you to fit them on only during occasions and not all the time. As they still tend to fall off while the car is running.
