This week.

Only Half of the front right fender was available. The rest had to be made with sheet welding.
As on today, the front is done. And she's looking good ! Work on the dickey area begins tomorrow. Patches have arrived, so has the new (old) bootlid. Good news: The original button lock, with it's "THESI" is available, so my boot is going to look one hundred percent original. !

Wow, I like the way your car's coming out ravi! Glad to see the front fenders come out beautifully!

Is the 'new' bootlid from the same car as the doors are?

But do take off the cosmetic bits (grille, headlamp rings etc.) now atleast!

Thanks Shyam .
Yes, the grille etc will be out soon, and the car will be scraped down.
No, the bootlid is from a '59 select, and is in super condition. Was lying in the guy's godown for years, till i chanced upon it, with the original hole for the button lock.

Original colour !

Guys, the car has finally been stripped of all paint. A shade of blue is revealed under the black, in some areas. Can't quite figure out what blue to call it, but Addy had once mentioned she used to be Oxford blue long ago.
Opinions required: Is this an original Fiat 1100 blue, or could it have been painted over the original colour ?

Thanks big time, Salil. I just had to mention it and there you go ! . I'm in love with cream and blue.
Btw the Mr. Bean colour scheme is also tempting.

Hey Salil, D'you think it would be possible to photoshop this car in both shades - a few shades lighter- Ivory and sky blue ?

Something like this? This looks similar to Gogi's car now.
