Is anyone aware of a Belvedere or a Savoy up for sale? Have a Plymouth that we are finishing up the last couple of things on (rubber stuff, a new gas tank and fuel lines) and am looking for another one.
Stanher, is the dieselized one have original trims and and transmission and tazes paid up? Also is the final price 85K or there may be room for negotiation?
Any leads would be really appreciated.

Hi PB, nice to hear from you after so long!
Are you talking about the junked one lying in the garage here? Well, it's lost most of it's trims, has the bonnet and bootlid badges only intact.
Transmission would obviously be different as the engine is changed (same as in the case of this car in this thread)
I think there is no case of pending taxes, as we have no life-tax for vehcils beyond 15 years of age. But the fitness would be pending since long. And getting a replacement petrol engine would also mean having to enter it in the RC, IF the Diesel entry had been made already.
I suspect he might come down on the current price (but not drastically) considering that there aren't any buyers coming forward for this car anymore and it's occupying quite a lot of space in his garage!

Hmmm, do you know of any other available in hyderabad, heard there may still some good cars available there.
Someting that may interest you, dont know if we ever discussed the Green Mark 3 that I got a year back. There are pics somewhere on the forum. The mechanic (who hails from Hyderabad too) finally started work on it and it started up, needs carb cleaned, but he thinks that the biggest challenge is the suspension, so may have questions for you. The guy was back in Hyderabad for a couple of days in jan (thats why things are not going as fast as i woud have hoped for) and was going to look for the Plymouth for me but came back empty handed.

It is fitted with a diesel engine and I was told is for sale for 3.5 lakhs. I'm sure it is negotiable.

I would tend to think you would be able to find a Plymouth engine, otherwise the car has everything period radio et all

This pretty-in-pink Plymouth wagon was spotted in Pune the other by moralfibre. Appeared to be part of some film shoot. Probably dieselised.

During the 2006 VCCCI rally in Bombay I remember seeing a similar battered wagon, BYH regd, in a silvery blue. It wasn't part of the event, but passed en route.

May I suggest that you change the title of this thread to Plymouth, Dodge and DeSoto? And cover these cars from 1946 to 1957. The reason obviously is that these are all very similar in appearance.

Cheers harit

A battered Dodge wagon is spotted in action in Mysore - being used the way a wagon is designed to be!

Wow, that's one fully-loaded car, with tricked-out indicator options too. The left one when turning right and vice versa!
