Select

@Manishalive: I must say that you have got yourself a very OH REE GEE NAL "Select" and with your professional expertise the car can be definately restored to its Period glory. And BTW it seems to be in Factory paint as this was one of the shades offered on the Select at that time. I myself have one such car in the same OH REE GEE NAL shade, pending restoration, that I am posting hereunder, just for your reference.

Lovely baby, Manish ! Looking forward to your starting work on her.
Do try to source the "millecento" monogram which sits in the centre of the grille. That will really make her stand out !!

Dear All,

Thanks for the lovely comments, this has certainly boosted my morale. A dedicated thread will be there when I start the restoration.

@ rony: the pictures were taken in the night, on a daylight the color resembles more to the one karl has, I give a reference snap

The final color will be either like your's or the one in the picture above .

Gurus,

Can any one tell me two things

1. The head lights rings are original or not?

2. Wheel cap original or not?

Hey Manish.

Could you please post some pics of the engine bay too ?

Those hub caps are definitely not the original ones the ones on that car would have been the aluminium kind with a bigger diameter than the center ring on the rim on which they fit.

You would also need to get the original "fish" find of turn signal lights for the front too as well as teh correct rear light covers without that reflecting bit in the middle.

I will post more pictures soon, As for the wheel caps i believe Selects came with the steel ones, I will post the pictures of the repro ones I have which are slightly different in design.

And as for the tha tail lamp lenses and for the fish type side repeators i have 3 pairs of each of them .

I also have the original horn, wiper switch both italian make.

The wheelcap is of the correct design, though probably should have been in steel. The aluminium ones (like the one you have pictured) were probably fitted to Delights upto 67.

54 Dodge Convertible, no man I don't have. Wish that was true, I would have been on top of the world.

@ Karl thanks for the clarification, please also do provide your input on the head light and headlight rings also.

Headlight rings are not original. Headlights I think should be Lucas made in England, though I have seen one car with Italian headlights with the 'lamp/anchor' logo of Carello (?)

Head light is Auto Pal make so it's not original and now we know that the ring is also not original

Good catch arun, in that case we would have to pick up the bumpers we saw in gujari the other day.
