All,

Soon I am going to start restoration of my Car. I will have a dedicated thread then. I tried to trace the original color of the car. The RC book has be revised 2 times and does not have any mention of color. The prior copy does mention the original registration Number.

I am the third owner of the car, the previous owner has no idea about the color of the car and says the current Grey shade is the one the car came with. I am posting daylight pictures of my car

Upon scratching the surface I could see shades of cream, surf blue and blue some thing like this

Do any one has any info on the Color options available on for these cars.

Bye the way my family has suggested Apple green some thing like this, we see a immaculately maintained mark I Amby in same shade almost every day.

I am not looking for Two tone for the sake of originality. Guys need your suggestions for more color options. If some one can provide me info on Color shade offered that time I will be a boon for me.

Hey Manish, the grey colour on your car seems like an original select colour, and will look very nice too.
But let's think of some nice shades for you... will keep you posted.
I have seen original selects in white, black, grey, powder blue, biscuit, oxford blue, maroon, and tan.
Btw why are you not looking at two tone ? I'm told selects did come with two tone combos.. anyone ?

Yes Super Selects did came in 2 tone but not in India so :O{. Bye the Way see this picture. the first one is two tone with the grey shade as on my car, the second one is like Rony's car shade in two tone.

@ Arun: why I say the color could have been blue cause of not only the door portion as in this picture

Fiat 1100 Club - Bangalore [FCB]-door.jpg

but also see the area for the pull knobs, circled is also surf blue in shade

Fiat 1100 Club - Bangalore [FCB]-dashboard.jpg

And that is the reason for my confusion.

No, mine's called "sky blue", in the DuPont shade list.

Two Selects under resto...

Yesterday when Manish and me were going to see the abandoned Select, we happened to see a house where two Selects were being restored. There we met Mr. Murali, Design Engineer in a private firm. Both the Selects are owned by him. One of them belonged to Jadsons Automobiles(famous for old car parts) a decade ago.
All the original parts are there. In fact Mr. Murali has made many trips to Mumbai and collected lots of original parts from chorbazaar and Opera house. He has many extra parts it seems. But he is ready to part with it only after he completes restoring both his cars.
Here are the pics.

Sujith, its a Lambretta LD 150 with side shields, known as closed LD. It is the model that came before LI 150 Series 1, and I think it was made from 1954-57. It is longer, has wider tyres (see the spare tyre in the pic!), and is shaft driven, unlike our scoots, which are chain driven. You got that right, looks like a whale!

Our scooters are longer than the commuter 2 wheeler in the Indian motor world, how long is this baby then. Limo of scooters

When its crank shaft driven, then how is the engine mounted ? Can i get a exploded view for the LD 150 Engine.

OFF TOPIC !! Am sorry but can't ignore some posts
