Btw what's that starter like thingy on the right of the dash ? The starter looks like it's below the steering, correct ?
The starter is still in the engine bay I think you are talking about the ignition key switch. These cars used to come with steering lock type switches which many a times malfunctioned. Hence it is very common to see the "old type" ignition switch on the dashboard .

Right! Since the steering lock switch isnt working properly, the previous owner has fit an additional old type Ignition switch. Same is the case in my S1 too.

@ Adheesh: Why do the steering lock switch malfunction so badly? I somehow want that back to work in my S1. Is it a good idea ? Any work around to make it more reliable?

Personally I hadn't had any bad experience from these steering lock type ignition switches. However have seen 'n' number of cars with the downgraded feature. You would just need to find a steering lock type ignition switch from Jay company either new or from a car which is being broken down. Original locks were also from Jay and the key had 'PAL' embossed on one side and PAL & JAY embosssed on the other. The aftermaket locks from JAY had JAY on both side.

Let MB to join in. If MMK is influential in his area then it shouldn't be a problem for us.

Our Club's Founder Member Karthik M B (Karthik1100) had been to Coorg to celebrate New Year in his FIAT!!.

I am posting on behalf of him as he is busy his film shooting schedules.

He went to Coorg along with his friends and his Movie Director to shoot a small feature film on his FIAT!!!

The Title of the movie is FIAT - Friends In A Trip.
He drove the car on all sorts of terrains without any problem. Hats off to you Karthik M B!! You proved a lot. Good luck for all your future projects.

Must say, Karthik M B is the bravest driver of our club. First Goa and now this place. I fear for even 100KM in my FIAT. Hats off to MB
Nice photography, but the funny part is that the Cakes reads "HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009"

Good show Karthik !
It's been a dream to take my 1100 for a 300 - 500 km drive. My only worry is that I'm mechanically inept.. Still, would LOVE to have a long Fiatful drive someday..
