Dear R Nairtvm - ref your post no 1093, BLL4919 does not have Nissan transmission. It is a regular Premier Padmini 1988 model. I changed the final drive from 4.3:1 to 3.9:1. Just for information, I have an excellent original unopened 1968 Fiat transmission which I will be fitting shortly on BLL4919. By the way, in my post I mentioned that there was a catch to getting 18.5 kmpl. Did you guess? Please revert.

Dear Karthik, Arun, Sujith - 20 kmpl in an S1 is very much possible. You are running a full specification S1 floor shift with radials, electric fan and 3.9:1. I have mentioned many times that during our VRDE tests, we got 21.6 kmpl. This means that things are in order. Now just drive reasonably and don't mess up anything. In limiting case, remove any unwanted articles out of the car also (you can drop anything upto 30 kg this way).

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

Dhabhar sir i also own a 95 model PP S1 column shift. Was just curious to know what mileage figures should i expect from my car running original Solex Bicsa M32 carburetor. What is the maximum FE of column shift S1 which is in a perfect tune. You can have a look at my car in the Fiat 1100 Club of Lucknow thread.

Absolutely sir. I am slowly fixing all the issues identified by you, to make my car to run in excellent condition. I have a reason for being overly excited about mileage. When I got hold of the car, initially it used to return me 6kmpl. It was really like having a hole in my pocket. I used to visit the petrol pump very very often. Over the months many many things were done on my S1 and slowly the mileage started to increase bit by bit. The present condition I believe is the best so far. I thank everyone who offered me suggestions and ideas.

Got to be the "perfectly setup Mikuni". Has to be one of the 200 odd cars that came with and you guys sourced/procured it somehow.

Behramji,

I give up.

Sorry I am not an expert on the technicals, but can appreciate a beutiful machine, that is all.

I thought the catch in getting the 18.5 kmpl was in the drive ratio of 3.9:1 whic I knew was different from the standard 4.3:1. I also knew that 3.9:1 is the final drive ratio of 118 NE. That is whay I aske if BLL 4919 was having 118 NE Box.

Please enlight what the catch is.

Best Regards & Drive/Ride safe

Ram

Hello guys,

I had just been to a Kannada movie in Santhosh theater. I had to park my bike at the Sapna theatre 2 wheeler parking. While parking, at a distance, in a corner was a creamish old car parked. Looked like ti is parked there for atleast a month. I also saw many Carton bosex on it. Car looked neat and original. It looked a bit 118ish shape to me. I was running late for the show and couldnt go close to find more about it.

After the movie, at 7PM, I went closer and checked it out. IT was a little dark and I had no camera. I cleared up some of the stuff on the dickey and found by the monogram that it was indeed a Fiat 125 Special.

Does anyone know about this car? I will try to get some pics when ever I go next. I doubt if many have seen this car since not many watch Kannada movies. But does anyone know about this car through someone else?

My first brief view with day light was the side view. Definitely it looked like in this pic. Are there many 125 Specials in Bangalore? My guess is, 124's are themselves rare. This 125 Special should be more rare.
