I must say its really not safe parking such Fiats on the road.
What a beauty! Very few cars are seen in such an OH REE G NAL condition today.

Arun, is he a member of your Bangalore FIAT club? If not, then you must invite him real soon.

Can you ask him to share some pictures? These original low milage cars help us immensely in terms of reference while restoring our own.

Given their (relatively) lower mileage, I'd think a number of cool cabs were/are probably in better shape today than many of their 'private' brethren, not to mention the regular banged-up non-cool fellow taxis. This car, however, doesn't look like a cool cab (as someone else has pointed out too), although the colour scheme is close. Looks rather well maintained though.

On another note, a taxi can be very desirable too. Either to be preserved in the guise of a taxi (Indian-taxi scale models are popular, just to illustrate a parallel) or as a collectible make and model per se. For instance, nobody is going to pass up a Chevy Fleetmaster today, even if she were a taxi before. But a Fiat/Premier taxi which isn't exactly thin on the ground? Probably that's your point.

Delighted with this Delight

Some more information about this Italian. Its a 1971 model Delight owned by Mr. Satish Chandra. This was belonged to his mom which she got through Karnataka/Mysore State Governor's Quota (can anyone give more info on such quota?) which was 6 cars.

And here comes some unbelievable information. The car has been driven 2,50,000 kms till date in Bangalore!!!!!! Yet it has all original fittings with original paint.

The owner was applauding the reliability of a well maintained Fiat Engine.

Wow thats gr8 news, well maintained cars do go an extra mile, our cars in family easily crossed 150000 kms, and a single battery will last upto 5~6 years.
