Stories like that would probably excite me more than a barn find Delahaye

Do share some pictures when you can, and you know who to call when he wants to part with it.

Since most 1100 Dukkar fans are going to be glued to this thread, I want to share some info with u guys.

There is a car parked outside a mechanic's house in Mulund East. Car is in decent shape.

Looks like all the ivory knobs etc are in place.

I hope one of you guys can give this one a good home.

Anybody interested, please PM me, for pics or directions to the place.

Cheers!

Is this a white Millecento ? If so, it's not for sale. Belongs to Daryl Dias, of Dias auto works, Fort.

Hello SS,

Yes .. it is a creamish white one.

I know it belongs to a Mechanic, not sure who it is...trouble is his church timings coincide with my Fish market visits on sunday mornings. I could see the car even today... but could not find the owner.

If it's the same car I'm referring to, it's in lovely original shape. It's one of the earliest Millecentos in Mumbai, WITHOUT any side trim - probably a '53 or '54 (???)
The chap who owns it is quite a shy guy - tried to call him for FCCCI meets several times, but he replies with a polite "yes sir, I'll try to come" and never shows up ! The car was apparently gifted to him by a loyal customer years ago.
Try to get some pics please !

Karlos Sir, no updates? I thought you were going to restore this car? Can you please post updates on restoration if it has already kick started?

Restoration is usually a painfully slow process, especially when one has many projects running simultaneously. This project will take its time, as and when mechanics, labour, parts etc are available. And most importantly funds. I shall gladly share updates as and when there is something worth mentioning. Currently looking hard for a set of doors.

Personally I don't like FIAT of HM. It was the outcome of Monopoly Raj. Because of that we still are paying more than twice the actual cost of M3 or any great cars for that matter.

What i really like is the car has a great history behind it, And Kudos to Karlos for saving it from what it would have been an eminent scrap in coming time.

I was fortunate to get a copy of this stellar shot of the lady herself (armed with her trademark Roliflex) with her favourite car.

Welcome home 'Dalda 13'-car.jpg
