Saurabh,

You are very lucky to be able to find such original scooters in India. I am very envious.

Sorry to go 'off topic' but does anyone know where I can get a headlight assembly and rim for a Kelvinator Avanti?

Recently procured a new Lambretta LD for a restoration project.

Have already started stripping the machine although its in very good condition considering its age.

All rubber trims that are there on the machine are original including the rubber beadings on the floor.

Have started hunting for parts.

The horncast, the original CEV headlight rim and the side panels and side panel chrome grills have already been removed for restoration work.

The Original reflector has been sent for metalising.

The LD has the original Milano LD Legshield badge which I have removed for restoration and also the Lambretta badge on the spare wheel cover that has been carefully removed so that the spare wheel cover can be restored.

The seats are original AQUILA although the covers aren't but in due course of time they will be original AQUILA!

I am loving it!

Have sprayed the rust penetrant on all the nuts and bolts and left it at that for the moment to loosen the rust on nuts and will slowly open up the machine for a mind blowing restoration (IMHO) soon enough.

Will keep you posted team.

Any contribution in terms of parts and source of parts in India will be deeply appreciated. Keep the information coming in.

Here are some pics for you all to enjoy.

Cheers!

Saurabh
Congratulations for a nice project. Keep us posted on the progress. Have'nt worked or seen a LD since last 40 years or so.
Would be a beauty once restored fully.

Hi

Have just bought a whole load of parts for LD & Series 1 in London. Waiting for the parts to get crated and dispatched and arrive at my house soon.

Have bought a genuine handlebar with all parts for a Series 1!

Am now negotiating for a S1 horncast and horn grille!

None of these are locally available

Cheers!

Hi Stanher

Work going along very slow.

Am working on restoring another S2 Li150 for a friend who wants to take it to Italy therefore the work is happening very slowly on my own machines.

Plan to speed it up real soon!

Cheers!

Re: My Lambretta LD ! A new restoration project

Hello Saurabh

Digging out this old thread. What happened to the scoot finally? I am sure you restored it beautifully. Can we have some pictures please?

Regards
Viju
