Shyam, the mirror he got back then was for the co-driver/better half. Now he wants one for the driver/himself.

BTW, i have spare Delight mirrors. Anyone want?

Manish: Will try speaking to the person tomorrow who promised you for a new set of all doors outside locks.

A few points FYI
  • Your wheelcaps should be steel
  • The door handles should be aluminium (outer ones look steel to me)
  • Never seen Italian script on radiator cap - did it come from an 1100 or some other imported model? Either ways, wow!
  • Gear knobs are not original, but period and correct design. The original to your car should probably be similar to the black pear shaped one, but better finished
  • Fiat logo should have red inlays, not blue
  • Cabin lights are of later model, original have a rectangular lens
  • Pull knobs are great - I need a set in black and ivory if you chance upon
  • How do you distinguish the front indicator lens as original? The italian cars would have Carello/Altissimo/NL units (I have Altissimo on my 1961 Export), but it is unlikely that the Indian Selects would have Italian leses.
Good luck!
I knew some of the gurus would comment. Answers

1. I have 3 of the original one's, as pointed earlier also by you.
2. The outer ones are indeed aluminium, one came from hyderabad. One mounting lug is broken, need to get it welded.
3. The cap came with the car when I purchased.
4. Gear knobs, you spotted them right, the black long one is of nylon and not bekelite.
5. Thanks for that, I was aware cas of forum.
6. Well one cabin light came from a select in hyderabad, could you show me a sample.
7. 2 extra ones are already pledged to shiva, If I find more, will be for you.
8. Infact they are none, the quality is equivalent to original though.

Now please tell me which type of fuse box is original to my car. the square one came off my car and is bakelite, the another hexagonal shaped I procured locally.

@ Sujith : thanks for the kind help, if that deal happens, oh my my, you will make my life.

@ All: This is my second Identical car and thats why many parts are 2 -2. The car that I had earlier was virgin and had every thing down to original bolts, I scrapped her , as she was rotting away and poor me, I din't had that much gyan (knowledge), now repenting but a little less cause of my current love.

@ Shyam: Shiva is being greedy, I am already giving him some stuff as a friendship gesture. And bye the way thanks for the aluminium no. plate lights, they look awesome.

@ Pawan: Mirror is not on offer, more when we meet on tuesday afternoon.

@ Ravi: tech ter paihejee, khubach shodhla pan miladi nai, miladi tar kantakir kaam hoyil. Even if I get a Super Select / delight one, I will exchange with Hillram (Ram garu) .

I remember how that was the first part you'd taken out of that car!

Don't think people wouldnt know your address Manish sir its the need which will make us find you. Just kidding. You have been collecting parts when they were abundant you said, then why not a neat car though the one restoring is also neat but you had better option when you can collect parts then I am sure you would have also got a car.
