Re: My BSA C12 1957 - Restoration

Dear Manish - I got the POR through a shippy friend of mine who got it on the ship he sails on. He picked it up from US.

Cheers!

Re: My BSA C12 1957 - Restoration

Truly amazing, bike has come up really awesome as British class. This bike color reminds me of my BSA 1954 BB31 model which I lost because of a mechanic fraud, I was almost at the verge of rolling tears when I saw the body parts scattered in every corner of the workshop, engine was sold to someone else, the property was locked for more than 3 years later which was broke open by the property owner to vacate the shed.

I had to dispose the left outs from a very original bike as spares, even today I feel sad about that experience. Good to see a bike since long time though not similar bike as mine but the same brand gives me some smile on my face.

Is it a Glass Wool Goldie?

Re: My BSA C12 1957 - Restoration

Thank you Ranjit!

The AMAL Carb is thanks to AMAL UK and my persistence - it payed off finally when they agreed to make one specially and send it. It was quite a bit of rip but then I wanted ALL original stuff on this bike. As you can see I have not cut ANY corners while doing this bike up. People often say that no one spends like I have on a 250cc - but then the love for restoration to the highest quality standards takes you there automatically.

The exhaust is from UK as well., made to the original design specs.
Cheers!

Saurabh

Re: My BSA C12 1957 - Restoration

I am afraid your amal is a concentric. These were first introduced in 1966. The C12 had a monoblock 375. These are still available new although slightly more expensive than the concentric, that said it is a beautiful restoration.
