Is your car driven just 29,000 kms?

Edit: I just read your previous posts.. Wow! Very less driven Fiat.. My First PP is driven 34,000kms and the grey one is 40,000 kms...

Behram Sir's BLL 4919, the red PP, is driven just 19,000 kms!
My MH-01-B-4979 is just 12000 km run. In 2004 it was just around 4500 !!

The car was bought new by my grandfather on 15th October 1991. Since he had already retired at that time and due to his age the usage was negligible. She always has had (and will have) the privilege of a covered parking irrespective of the daily runners staying in the open. I still have the original company sparkplugs and headlight bulbs which I changed (they were still good) to preserve them safely. The wheels also do not have any balancing weight and are fitted with original Modi tyres which have NEVER been removed from the rim. The stepney is unused. Now let the photographs do the talking part.

Adheesh: I am speechless!

Some questions:

1. Is my grey Padmini same model as yours? PP Standard?

2. I thought only Economy came with full rubber bumper guards..!

3. Is that type of wheel cap original to your car? Does it have the small plastic caps too?

My car actually is a "bhel-puri" of the economy, standard and deluxe models. The warranty book says Premier Padmini STD, however,it has original rubber guards (economy, I am changing them to original metals ones), chromed grill and glass beading pattis (standard model), upholstry of a standard model and the electrical system is from the deluxe with the hazard warning system and reverse lights, all original and company fitted. The wheel caps have been changed due to my personal choice. The original ones were SS with concentric circles.

Regards,
Adheesh Parelkar

My Dad's car is Economy.. It had reverse lights and glass beading pattis when bought new. Had black grill.. Both my cars have same hazard light system. I too love the wheel caps on your car and I collected almost a dozen of them.

When are you clicking a new set of pics of 4979?!

Very soon. Since my vacations are going on, I am doing some minor tweaking work (which is actually endless) on the car. I am planning a detailed photoshoot including engine bay pics after that.

Now thats seriously a damn good and well maintained car. Kudos to you Adheesh and your family for maintaining her. BTW my car also had those full rubber bumper guards along with the reverse light. It was a standard S1 model and costed around 1,85,463.37 Rs. Till date mine had covered around 87000 Kms genuine.
Those wheel caps are very much popular with the fiat enthusiast as even i procured a set for my car.

I have had the privilege of seeing MH-01-B-4979 in person. Let me tell you, this is THE best Padmini in the country. And the amount of effort Adheesh puts in to keep her in shape, is commendable !
