I havent seen anyone so dedicated, determined and meticulous as Shiva, who is restoring his Elegant to pristine originality. He is spending sleepless nights and days trying to finish off the restoration and prepare the car.
Hence I will be accompnaying him in his Palio D to Bangalore.
But some day i promise we will all drive to Bangalore in our 1100s.Coming be Bangalore is like coming to my second home !!!

Today while checking the progress of Shiva's Elegant,we spotted this pristine Padmini with a breathtaking coat of fresh paint.
Shiva didnt wait long and got into the strangers car, fiddled around with gear shifts and checked under the hood a beautiful Toyota Diesel Engine.
It was certainly a well maintained Padmini. We will contact the owner soon to ask him to join FCCH.
This car will turn the heads on the road for sure !!!

Indeed its a pristine car, nice retro colour. which model it could be may be this was dieselised. The benifit of dieselised car is that you can upgrade the car with latest engines like Toyota, Dihatsu etc which is economical and can be daily runner.

New FCCH member with a 61 Select

Today while me and Shiva were doing our Fiat sorties,we chanced upon a beautiful 61 Fiat 1100 Select getting some repairs done.
Upon closer look,it was a pristine original 61 Select with all the fittings in shape and style.
The owner,an elderly gentlemen reminisiced that his father bought it from show room for Rs.12500 and the sunshade along came as an accessory for Rs.250 in 1961.
He agreed to attend the next FCCH meet and pour out more of his Fiat memories.
FCCH day was made !!!

Ram, good to see the fleet size increase in FCCH. The '61 Select looks like it's been taken care of properly.

When is the next FCCH meet planned?

Nice to see green color Padmini (it is unique color and seems to be original padmini shade in 1970s) and Fiat select of 1961. I think it will be a huge get together in mid July. So Ram and Shiva are going to Bangalore for parts search. Best of luck to Shiva for fruitful trip. Hope he'l get all original fittings for his "Elegent" .

Absolutely "Boeuff" sir I wanted to quote/refer your car but I didn't know your name, this car looks similar to your car. Can you also post some interior and exteriors pictures of your car sir.

Here are some pictures of my car.
The seat adjustment still works well, and so does the small 4 blade metal fan, no overheating at all.
I have the ratchet type jack that came with the car.
Cheers,

Lovely Car. I am in love with the color. I remember one of my school teacher's used to drive a similar example. The intrumental cluster is one more thing that I love in this car. BTW I thought your car was a president.

Boeuff's car is a Padmini just after President. Hence the President type wheel caps and grille. Another rare car of FCB.
