So finally FCCH wishes and your hardwork/luck are fruitful. COngrates u got the boy, his bicycle and still monogram was there.
I agree Ram's suggestions but instead of making FIAT letters red, actually make backgroud of monogram red. And let "FIAT" be shining in silver color. That will maintain originality. U can first wash with soap/colin so that FIAT will start shining and then apply red oilpaint to background. (you can see Suren's Avatar picture for finer details)

Yes Sagar bhai, it is indeed in good condition, all it requires is a chrome plating and red colour.

I remember seeing one monogram given to Mehul by FCB guys which did not have the red colour I guess its something else (glass type) like the one which you get on imitation jwellery, even the old cars and bikes have them on monograms.

Even I have the same idea Narendra saab. I will paint the background red and let the fiat letters embossed in chrome, it will look nice. Even I got inspired with Surens avtar picture.

Thanks guys.
Bala

Here is my DIY though i don't have the before pics but it was really messed up with over sprayed paint, chipped red color et al. Did some cleaning and brushed the background with red petrol based marker.

@ Hillram: Ram bhai i think you are correct about the badge giving the Fiat feeling albeit a bit late (FIAT >>> PAL)
@ President: Thanks sir for your appreciation. This badge is the part of the conversion kit parts i have collected for the President transformation, hope you remember.

So when can we say the transformed PRESIDENT, come on sagar its been a very long wait. I have never seen PAL badge until now.

I was shocked today to see my Padmini starting after keeping her idle for a month last fired on 07-08-2010, I thought the battery would have died up but to my surprise its was powerful and single twist of the key the car fired up (with the choke on) with a melodious exhaust note. Today my Padmini convinced me in another form to have her for ever.

Thats great to hear Bala bhai. It seems that your car is very healthy in terms of mechanical aspect. Regarding the President conversion, it will take some time as i am focusing on some other things nowadays. But this will surely happen.
PS: Hows your delight doing. Any recent work carried out on her??

No buddy not yet started due to certain reasons, but sure oneday. I dont want to do a hasty restoration job.

About the Padmini yes she seems to be healthy, no doubt about it. She also needs some patch work (at the end of the mud gaurd) paint touch up and then some waxing and then just enjoy.

FCCH - Gandipet Drive : 19th September 2010

Monsoon is in full swing and its time to bring our classic Fiats out, to taste the rain.
Next drive is planned for 19th September 2010 to Gandipet,to enjoy the wonderful lake and its environs.
The plan of action is as below:

Date : 19th September 2010 (Sunday)
Meeting time : 10.00am
Rendez-Vous point : NMDC Masab Tank
Departure Time : 10.30am

Program:
11.00am -Reach Gandipet
11.15am -Meet & Greet with members (& families) and discussions.
11.30am -Line up of Fiats and photo session
12.00pm -Fun & Games for members & families.
13.00pm -Lunch
14.00pm -Return to City

I propose that this drive should be with the families as they can savour a Fiat ride to scenic Gandipet and enjoy the nature.

As usual FCCH Core team will be there in their classic Fiats.

Chalked out program is good. If possible and convinient to all, my request is to change Rendez-Vous point to one of the following,

1. Koti (Near women college stop or Andhra bank circle) but parking problem
2. Nampelly ( Opp. Neo royal Hotel parking of station circle)
3. Abids (Opp Big bazar/Post circle)

10 to 10:30 will be a good waiting period and publicity of the FCCH club in Heart of city.

[quote=nvkale2;2065896]1. Koti (Near women college stop or Andhra bank circle) but parking problem
2. Nampelly ( Opp. Neo royal Hotel parking of station circle)
3. Abids (Opp Big bazar/Post circle)

All the three spots are very busy traffic areas and practically difficult to park Fiats for long time.
Besides the rendez-vous point is not for display, but wait for other members to join slowly as per IST(Indian Strecheable Time).
Our main focus will be display of cars at Gandipet which is attracting so many people these days due to raised water levels of the Gandiper reservoir.

Plan B is to assemble asusual at Necklace Road and drive to Gandipet via Masab Tank.
Lets decide the plan by tomorrow evening as we need to start informing many members.
Suren,Shiva,Bala..please respond.
