FCCH Monsoon Meet – 26th June 2011

It was a pleasant morning, perfect weather to get the Fiats out on the roads!! The meeting point was the parking lot of the Old Begumpet Airport. At 8:30 AM cars starting assembling at the road that leads to the old airport. The press was already there to cover the event. Once all the members gathered, we headed for the parking lot and lined up our cars. FCCH members interacted with the press and among themselves, discussing one common passion… FIATS!! We had a total of 11 cars that made it to the meet this time. Finally FCCH made it to double digits!!

The highlight of the event was the launch of Mr. Suryanarayana Veeramachaneni’s website: Miles On Fiat This website has been designed by his grand daughter and it has the travelogues of Mr. Suryanarayana and his life partner Mrs. Swarooparani. The site was launch by senior member, Mr. Tej Khan. Being the senior most member of FCCH, Mr. Suryanarayana's enthusiasm level is amazing! After his retirement, he started fulfilling his dream of traveling India by road. He has clocked an amazing 90,000 kilometers since 2002 till date in his Premier Padmini 137D!! He is 71 and still going strong! His next trip is to Goa and Mahabaleshwar!! We all wish him thousands of (s)miles ahead!!

After the launch of the website, it was time to distribute goodies to the members. The goodies were sponsored by Mr. Hanu Krothapalli. Unfortunately due to official commitments, he was not present at the meet with his Premier 118 NE. With monsoons about to start, FCCH members were given umbrellas. A big thank you to Mr. Hanu Krothapalli!!

The members then started interacting among themselves, checking out each other’s cars. The stars of the show were Mr. Siraj Attari’s Fiat 1100 (black), Mr. Tej Khan’s Fiat 1100 (dark blue) and the ever popular Fiat 600 of Mr. Sonu Singh.

At 10:45, we called it a day. A few members dispersed and the remaining headed towards Yatri Nivas for some late breakfast. Dosas followed by coffee marked the end of the FCCH Monsoon Meet.

Enough of talking… Time for photos!!

PS : In case I have missed out any details, others please add accordingly.

Regards and Keep Revving,

Rahul Waghmare.
