Regards,
jeepster09 Thanks! You may also try the Chor Bazar behind JJ Hospital, Mumbai (actually Mutton Street) where they break old cars. You may get panels as desired there too.In your case the two front fenders need to be changed to those of the Mark II and the thin panel above the front bumper (joining the two fenders) also needs to be procured apart from the other ones you may be looking out for.

Dear Anjan,

I guess you are referring to the parts I have encircled in the below photo of my car and also in the Mark II illustration. Aren't these of Mark II type on my car too ?

Oops sorry! jeepster09 true all that is mark II stuff in your car. Am now again seeing the encircled portion.Only the grille needs a replacement.Even your bumpers can go with the MarkII. Indeed the Mark II and 3 shared the same bumpers.
The owner of your car tried to make the Mark II into a Mark 3, but did not get the original Mark 3 grille.

Slow progress on the tin work. The work is being done from the RHS.

Both the doors have been repaired and outer sheet metal has been replaced for both doors. The inner frames have been repaired and painted with black epoxy paint. The outer door panels have not yet being painted with black epoxy paint on the insides as these will need to leveled using the weld torch.

The RHS running board and outer half of the flooring has been done.

The rear fender and rear corner piece piece is currently being done.

The photos of the work completed and in progress.

Hey jeepster !
That's a huge amount of tinwork in progress - good going, and all the best !
Btw, where in Mumbai is the car being done ? If you don't mind, i'd love to come and take a look. A relative of mine owns a Mark II, and I reckon she'll soon need work. So just to keep track of what goes on in an Amby !!

Hey Jeepster09 the level of your restoration you are doing on the car is absolutly stunning and appreciatable, I see this is one of the best restoration projects out of few. I see there is another jewel (MarkII) emerging. I assume you would recline towards period looks upholsery, color etc. some light on that my friend.

Did MarkII come with a factory fitted audio, antenna. wishing you good luck in every details you carry on this angel.

jeepster good progress made. Saw the pictures and find that the car will soon emerge shining. I am sure your garage people are doing good work and it appears they know most of the Ambassador details.

Anjan, Thanks. As advised by you, I have got the inner sides of the door frames painted with black epoxy paint. This is stuff they normally use on the water tankers to avoid rusting. The insides of the door outer panels will also be painted using the same once the denting/finishing of the doors is done.

The rear suspension needed some repairs and bushing replacements, that is currently being done.

Chanu, Thanks for your encouraging remarks. Period looks are definitely what I aim for. The color will be black.

On factory fitted audio & antenna, am not sure, will check for that too.

Searching for the right taillight plastic lens to fit the space.

The signal indicator - upper orange one is a bit larger but can be fitted with a little adjustment. The brakelight one is available only in white and orange. One option is to use a red coloured light inside, other to paint the lens with red color on the inside.

Hi jeepster,

I have a spare tail light lenses set with me so I've sent a PM to you regarding this. Also you need to have the mark1 or mark2 tail light base to fix these lenses so check if your car has them. They are identical to the mark3 / mark4 bases except for the small clips to hold the lenses.
