Chanu bhai take some BP pills and relax. We still have around 3.5 yrs (calculated) before our situation is like a Herald or Gazel owner. Scrapyards of Mumbai and chor bazaar will act as the source for these parts. Don't get tempted to buy whatever you see either in scrap or new. Think twice before buying and calculate the no. of years for which you want to stock parts and keep your car. Mine calculation is year 2025. After that Good knows how would we run our cars.
So chill and if possible buy a old PP through pooling or by yourself and stock it for the parts.

Some more parts to be stocked (small yet enough to keep the originality of the car intact)

1. Radiator (closed/ open{direct} type)
2. S1 degass tank (if required)
3. Thermostat fan,switch & sensor unit)
4. Purolator oil filters (as much as you can)
5. Metal fuel filters " " ( i still have the original one having
PREMIER marking )
6. Fuse box cover (in case needed for replacement)
7. Transmission Coupling (rubber) VIR make.

Some interiors
8. Door panel holding clips
9. Door handles (only buy after measuring the screw holes with old ones)
F/R and grab handles
10.Set of front door Quarter glass (if required).
11.Sun visors, cabin light, rear view mirror(especially the one having light)

Guys, thought its better if this is directed @ all of you- I have some 6 or 7 pairs of sunvisors taken from various fiats (although they all more or less look the same, to me atleast) that would need a good home, or good homes.

So those of you interested, do pm me for pics. and let me know exactly how many you need.

Today i went searching around for Full Engine packing set.

My God!!! Only one make is available "Banko". Costs 400rs. To get one packing set, I had to roam around three four shops. The shop guy who gave me took 30rs premium. The MRP was 370rs. He said that PETROL engine parts of Fiat, Amby, Jeep etc are sold with premium in Bangalore.

One more doubt:

Can major Packing set of Kpacco carb fit Solex Carbs?

Well directed by arun1100, my thoughts.

Lets first categorise

1. Consumables / Filters.

2. Seals / Rubbers and kits.

3. Electrical and Ingnition components.

4. Busing kits.

5. Suspension, steering components.

6. clutch and cables.

7. Engine & Transmission Components.

8. Body rubbers, mats etc etc.

9. All the trim, locks handles etc etc.

10. All sheet metal

11. Lastly tyres.

The first 3 components will require frequent replacing then others whether you run the car or not. Some items simply age.

The 4th, 5th and 6th ones will wear out on use, so if you use more you change more.

The 7th one will hardly require any changing if the car is in good condition and you keep her in good condition.

8th and the 11th depent on the storage and use.

9th will probably be needing if some one breakes or are stoler off your car.

10th well no need the tinker can fabricate.

Hope this list of mine is correct. Enlighted members can add further to it.

Very well listed Manishji.

Your next task is to elaborate on each point.

Like... Engine and Transmission components. Try listing their parts and their chances of availability.

Engine components I can think of:

1. Spare carburetor from scrapyard.
Or new one. Make: Kpacco

2. Carburetor packing set.
major kit available from Kpacco.

3. Spark plugs.
Make:Bosch super

4. Engine head.
Only available new from SENATOR. But quality not so good.
Difficult, but get one from Scrapyard.

5. Pistons.
Very tough to get new ones.

I know thats it about the engine.

SIR,

THE FIAT (PREMIER) has dominated the India road for 40 years from
1955 TO 1995. People used to for few years to get a new fiat
car in 60S AND 70,S. It is great car for long and short runs.. The size of car
is so perfect . you can earsily say that FIAT is last classic car of india. Now sadly
it,s era is coming to an end. But FIAT LOVERS like me will treasure the car for
future generation to enjoy the ride of FIAT car.

B.ANANT

FIAT 1995 model white colour.

Some questions I have. The answers will tell what components of carburater we need to stock for future.

1) How good are the carburaters made by KPACCO? Is it atleast better than a used Solex available in scrap?
2) How is the major packing kit of theirs which is available in market?
3) Can KPACCO major packing kit be used on a Solex carb?

By engine components I mean Core engine components. These are attachments. All pumps, plugs, carburetor, filters, distributor are Engine fitment accessories

How often do you change them, very rarely until you screw them up

I know thats it about the engine.
I would say Rings, Valves, Guides, valve seats inserts, valve springs (FIAT does not have them but some engines have it). All Journal Bearing (Main, Big End and small end).

But then any thing to fail there is a cause to it. If you set your engine right and take good care probably you wont need any thing.

OMG I paid rs 130 for the same.

Your stocking idea is nice but you are creating an artificial demand itself.
